From now on, it will be completely present and i'll mention if it isn't.

Namjoon yawned heavily and spaced out on his case file for the fifty ninth time that night. He and his friend Jackson had been working all night on a case report that had been overdue for a whole month. They had decided to stay back at the station and work all night and finish it at any cost. But neither of them could concentrate.
"Ughh. Let's just take a break. Do you want something to drink?" Jackson asked, getting up to pour a mug of coffee for himself. "What are you having?" Namjoon asked. "Coffee" Jackson said. "I'll have that too" Namjoon said. "Okay" Jackson said and walked out of the room, while Namjoon removed the belt from his uniform and loosened his collar slightly.
Jackson came back with two mugs of steaming coffee and began to browse through his instagram, while Namjoon decided to go through his gallery. He was half way through when Jackson suddenly laughed out loud.
Namjoon looked up from his phone. "Sorry, it's just...my girlfriend" Jackson said. "Ohh. I just realized, I never saw your girlfriend" Namjoon said. "Ohh, right! Here" Jackson said, handing his phone to Namjoon with her account open.
"She looks really pretty" Namjoon commented as he looked at picture after picture. "I know rig-" "WAIT A FUCKING SECOND!!" Namjoon suddenly yelled and jumped up from his seat. "What happened? What's wrong?" Jackson asked, staring at Namjoon's horrified, pale face. He looked back at his screen.
It was just a picture of his girlfriend sitting in a train that went from Seoul to Busan, late at night. "What's wrong?" he asked again, alarmed by how pale Namjoon was becoming. He followed Namjoon's line of sight and realized that Namjoon was looking at the date of the post and not at the photo.
September 19
"Namjoon, you are scaring me" Jackson said. "Taehyung" Namjoon whispered. "Who?" Jackson asked, scrolling back to look at the post. There were two guys sitting in the seat behind his girlfriend. He had never looked at them because he had been too busy staring at her face, instead.
"Who?" Jackson asked again, now staring at the somewhat familiar boy in the photo. "Kim Taehyung" Namjoon whispered. The weight of the whole situation brought him down to his knees. This picture was taken on the day he and Jungkook fought. It was late in the night and clearly after the fight.
Because if it had happened before it, Jungkook surely would have told him about Taehyung meeting Dae Shin. They never met Dae Shin for almost six months before the incident. So why was Taehyung suddenly on a train to Busan with Dae Shin, on the day he went missing?
He zoomed in and noticed the tear tracks on Taehyung's face. He seemed to be pretty upset about the fight. Then again, anyone would be.
Namjoon had spent six solid hours knocking sense into Jungkook's brain when Jungkook told him about the fight. It wasn't the first time that he had acted that way with Taehyung.
Even though possessiveness was endearing in a way, it got very painful very fast when the possessiveness came from distrust rather than love.
He had explained it to Jungkook many times. That he was going to lose Taehyung some day if he kept accusing Taehyung of cheating on him with no proper reason. But the doubt just never left Jungkook's head. He just stopped bringing it up when he was sober.
But drinking did a lot of things to his mind.
Namjoon shook his head and brought his thoughts back on track. So, Taehyung went to Busan along with Dae Shin after writing a suicide note. But why? He could come to only one conclusion.
He might have wanted to teach Jungkook a lesson.
But no human being would be cruel enough to hurt a whole lot of people for almost four months.
So something must have happened to him.
Jackson's girlfriend was still alive and healthy, so nothing happened to the train in which they travelled. Something must have happened after they got off the train. But then, Dae Shin was safe and sound too.
So Namjoon could come up with only two conclusions.
One - Dae Shin was somehow involved in the whole thing. Two - Something happened on his way back to Seoul.
Namjoon didn't like where everything was leading him to. Whatever the business was, it was starting to smell really bad, really fast.
"Namjoon....hey! Are you alright?" Jackson asked, placing a hand on Namjoon's shoulder. "Kim Taehyung!" Namjoon squeaked again. Jackson was starting to get really scared by Namjoon's behaviour. Namjoon was the unbeatable, suave, scary and extremely brave officer, after all.
"SHOOT!!" Jackson suddenly exclaimed, realizing why the name and face were familiar.
"It's the kid who was declared dead after three months of searching, right?" Jackson asked, his face losing colour. "Yes" Namjoon whispered, still staring at the floor with his eyes round and filled with horror. He suddenly sprang to his feet.
"I am leaving to Busan" Namjoon suddenly said and grabbed his ID card, wallet and the car keys. "I'll go with you" Jackson said, grabbing his ID card and wallet as well. "Okay" Namjoon said as he ran to his car.
Namjoon placed the siren on the car and sped down the way so that no one would stop him because of his speed. Jackson literally had to hold onto his seat belt out of fear because of Namjoon's insane speed.
It was the highway and there were no vehicles on the road due to the odd time. Thus, there was no stopping Namjoon from tearing down the road at an insane speed.
The three hour long drive to Busan got cut down to one and half hours, thanks to Namjoon's crazy speed.
"Jackson, can you call 'hubby' on my phone? Call him repeatedly if he doesn't answer" he said once they neared Busan.
Jackson did as he was told, but Seokjin answered right on the second ring. He turned on the speaker.
"Joon-ah!!"
"Jin-ah. Liste-"
"Joon-ah, Tae!"
"What about Tae?" Namjoon asked."We heard whimpers and people told us that this house was haunted. But today we heard them ourselves and it was Tae's voice and it was coming from under the floor in the bedroom. Oh god, I am freaking out right now. Kookie is getting his father to open up the floorboards. Ajeomma called Tae's mom just now and they will be here within an hour" Seokjin said without taking a breath.
"Oh, god. Actually, I am on the way to you guys. I saw a picture on Jackson's phone. It was a picture of his girlfriend, but Tae and Dae Shin were behind her in the train on the day he and Kookie fought" Namjoon said, making Seokjin gasp loudly.
"But Kookie did not tell us anything about them meeting Shin" Seokjin said.
"That's because he doesn't know, either. This happened late at night, after the fight. I am just fifteen minutes away from the house. Hold on, okay?" Namjoon said, leveling his voice after realizing that he had to be strong for all of them. Everyone knew Taehyung much longer than Namjoon did. They were going to be devastated.
"Okay"
"Take care of Kookie"
"Okay. Love you"
"Love you too" Namjoon looked at Jackson, silently asking him to hang up."I did know that you knew the kid personally, but this looks like he was close to you guys" Jackson said. "Close wouldn't even cover it" Namjoon said, launching into an explanation of how Taehyung was related to each one of them.
