I was about to leave them, when Ivy spoke up, "why can't you stay?"

"I can't Ivy this place isn't home anymore. I can't stay here because I'll be reminded everyday that I should have come home earlier. I should have been here to stop it. I should be dead too..." I said sorrowfully. "Well good luck and the cleaning crew should be here before the week is over. And if they ask for payment afterwards laugh in their face and shut the door. I already sent them the money and a little extra. Cost me an entire ten grand."

I walked out the door, and decided to look for a new place of my own.

After what felt like hours I saw a mansion. Almost as big as mine.

I looked at the plate that was on the fence columns.

'Van Dahl Résidence.'

It seemed so quiet and unoccupied. Was this place abandoned?

I quickly stashed my belongings and shifted into a raven. I flew to rest in a window and saw st least four two dead bodies. Seemingly they were in the middle of eating or at least about to eat.
I saw a small opening in the window on my left. I decided to fly over there and shift into a cat. I easily maneuvered my body to get in. I hopped down from the window seal and shifted into a dog.

Seemingly a purebred one at that. I sniffed out of there were any other signs of animal life. Yes another dog! So I sniffed out their bed and waited for someone to come back.

The only person or well animal... was a dog. Walking toward me growling. I figure I could try to talk to it?

'Hello my name is Jessylin.'

'What are you doing in my house, and in my bed?!'

'I have no where else to go so I snuck in. I'm sorry please don't make me leave!'

'Fine.... but my house, my rules, and my best friend!'

'Fine. Just so you know I'm a human too. I just... I don't know if anyone would like me. I'm not a typical girl...'

'Yeah right! your not human your a dog, get that in your head. The sooner you do the better.'

I wait to hear if someone is coming and to my fortune, no one is. I shifted into my human form. And the dog barked at me.

"Shh not so loud!" I whisper yelled and shifted back.

'You're a human?! Why are you a human?!if you're human you can do things dogs can't!'

'Well like I said, I can't trust anyone and I don't know if they'd like me. Also if I were to walk around here as a human I'd probably get shot!'

'True...'

Suddenly I hear footsteps coming.

"Oh Edward! Who is this?! Were you hiding a little girlfriend?" Said a man with Raven black hair and a black tuxedo. He seemed to walk with a limp, and he had a cane. But he was quite young.

'She's not my girlfriend!' Edward barked.

'I would never! No offense to you Edward.' I barked too.

'None taken.' Edward said.

"Oh I see you're just friends?" Said the man.

'Right!' Edward wagged his tail at the man.

'Can he be trusted with a secret?' I asked.

'Well He has a lot of secrets of his own. So I'd say yes.' Edward told me.

'Should I risk it?'

'It's up to isn't it?'

'Fine.' I say as I thought of what to turn into.

Okay maybe a parrot?

Yeah a parrot it'd be much easier to "talk" that way.

I began to change and the man gasped. He lunged toward me and I jumped up and flew around his head.

"Watch the feathers! Watch the feathers!" I squawked.

Why did I have to say everything twice?
It's so weird...

"What the hell?!"

Edward barked at me, 'that's enough! You'll scare him to death!'

"Fine. Fine!"

I landed on Edwards head.

'Why did you have to land on my head?'

"I wanted to! I wanted to!"

"What the hell are you saying." Said the man.

"Talking dog! Talking dog!" I squawked.

"You're talking to Edward?" He said appalled.

"Yes talking dog! Yes talking dog!"

"Oh... um how did you change from a dog to a parrot?!"

"Experiment on me! Experiment on me!"

"What the fuck?! What are you?!"

"Human! Human! No trust people! No trust people!"

"Fine but...! But!" The man then screamed in what seemed to be frustration. "Edward you're in charge! I'll be back in the morning I have business to take care of. You're good is all prepared and in its usual place."

"Goodbye? Goodbye?"

"Goodnight." Said the man.
