Oswald looked at the young woman as she fell unconscious once more. He was shocked and concerned at her sudden outburst. Just what had she been through?

Only minutes ago, she was fine, perhaps happy even. Then when he said the doctors name it all went to hell.

And when she fell back into a state of sleep, she had said something about dying again?

Oswald had just witnessed a serious bout of delusions from Lucy. He didn't understand why she was freaking out so much. She kept calling the guards as if she were in some kind of jail. she said something about dying again? Wait the only person he had heard of coming back to life was a young heiress to the Pennington fortune. Was Lucy really the young heiress?

And if so why would she give everything up? Why would she want to go out of her way to unassociate herself from her family and her old life. Just what exactly had happened to her to make her want to leave everything behind?

Whatever the reason, it must have been serious. In addition to that it must have also been extreme.

He decided then and there he'd do whatever it would take me to discover her past. And he'd be damned sure to make himself apart of her future.

"Doctor What is going on here?" He addressed the doctor.

"I don't have the slightest idea Mr. Cobblepot."

"NURSE! Did she tell you anything before? Before all of..." Oswald used extreme hand gestures to motion what happened. "This?!"

"If you will sir please step outside so that I may explain." Said Harleen.

Oswald nodded and limped his way out of the room.

While the doctor was checking over everything.

Harleen told Oswald what had happened before and what was said.

"She... was in Arkham?" He said taken aback. Having been there himself, he knew the wickedness of the estate called Arkham Asylum.

"Yes sir. She told me she had an awful experience there..."

"I see. That explains it."

"I believe it's some sort of extreme PTSD. Slightly delusional and very disturbed. Something horrible must have happened while she was there in Arkham." Said harleen.

"Well miss Quinzel, I must say, you would make a great psychiatrist."

"Why thank you. It's actually what I really want to be. But my college sent me into the medical field instead."

"Perhaps I can pull a few strings. It may not happen straight away but in time."

"Thank you Mister Cobblepot."

"No problem, anything for a friend. After you." He gestured for her to go back in the room.

They saw the doctor hovering above her checking her eyes with a flashlight. Her eyes were purple. Which least to say is very abnormal.

"Very strange... very strange indeed." Said the doc.

"Is she safe to come home now?" Oswald said not liking the way the doctor was talking about Lucy.

"I believe so other than this erratic behavior."

"Ah I believe I can explain that." Oswald said planning to use what Harleen had told him. "She had severe PTSD and upon hearing your name she began envisioning a part of her past."

"Ah I see. It truly is severe. I'll see about prescribing some painkillers as well as some PTSD and anxiety meds."

"Thank you that would be much appreciated."

"Nurse Quinzel will give you the sign out forms as well as see you out. Only of course when Mrs. Swann awakes."

"Thank you." Said Oswald once more.

The doctor left the room to attend to other patients. Leaving Harleen and Oswald in the same room.

Harleen was looking at Lucy as though she were an angel. Oswald assumed that she may have had a certain liking to her. And yet when he looks at Lucy he can't help but think the same as she does look like an angel when she sleeps.

Harleen cleared her throat and spoke, "I can assure you she should be waking up any minute now. It was only a light sedative. But she will be groggy and perhaps acting a little unusual. But that's all because of the sedative."

"Ah Yes well I must thank you again. And I will be sure to see about getting you that position at Arkham."

"That would be most delightful Mr.Cobblepot. I would greatly appreciate it."

"Any friend of Lusciana is a friend of mine." He said shaking her hand once more.

Suddenly they both hear a grunt from Lucy.

"It seems she's waking up. I'll leave you two to it. I will be right back I'm going to get the sign out forms and then I'll guide you two to your ride. Wouldn't want anymore accidents would we?" She said with a kind smile. Her Brooklyn accent getting thicker as she grew more comfortable around the two.

As she left Oswald began fidgeting. He was slightly nervous as to what Lucy would think of him. He had just admitted to her that he was bisexual, if not gay. Would she judge him?

Lusciana woke with a gasp and sat up.

"He... he was here! He was here! I can't do it again Oswald I can't! Don't make me go back! Please! Oswald promise me I won't go back! I can't!" She clutches his collar. "Please protect me! Don't let me go back Ozzy! Please!"

She began crying into his chest and hugging him. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. And began rubbing her back in attempt to soothe her.

"Don't worry Lucy I won't let them take you. I promise you that, my friend."

She began drying her tears and sniffed. "You promise? Will you promise me Oswald?"

"I give you my word. No one will take you from me."

"From you?"

"Yes from me. While you are with me, you are protected. I will not let anyone touch you or even think of harming you. You are my friend. And no one hurts my friends." He said with a slight snarl.

Just thinking of someone harming her or any of his friends, made his blood boil.

"Thank you Oswald thank you so much! You didn't have to take me in. You didn't have to help me, show me kindness. You didn't have to do anything for me and yet you did. How I am so lucky to have you as my friend? I will never know, but I am extremely grateful that you are." She said getting up from the hospital bed.

Just then Harleen came in. Her eyes widened at seeing Lucy out of the bed by herself.

"No nononono! Don't get up yet! Unless you want to flash Mr. Cobblepot, here, I would get back in bed while I go fetch your clothes!" She blurted in a hurry.

Lucy blushes crimson, nodded, and sat back down.
