38. Karma's a bitch

*back at the mansion*

"So is this everyone? Wheres Bridget?"

People looked at her in confusion.

"You know firefly?" She rolled her eyes.

"Oh unfortunately she wouldn't join us. She said she was still recuperating. Said you would know what that meant." Selina informed the group.

Meanwhile Ivy was dragging Ed's body into the meeting room. She kicked the door open and proceeded to pull him in.

All eyes were on her as she struggled Selina rolled her eyes and went to help her.

Jim And Harvey's eyes widened.

"What the hell is Nygma doing here?!" Harvey yelled.

"Calm your tits dude." Selina huffed.

Ivy began tying him to the chair. And after five minutes of everyone watching her, she had finished.

"Seriously you guys didn't have to watch me. I know how to tie a knot. And I've already secured all his weapons and items." She said crossin her arms. she sat down keeping her eyes on the man.

Everyone continued with the meeting then Ivy gasped when Edwards eyes snapped open. He began struggling against the bonds. Ivy began laughing at him. His face was looking quite exasperated and funny to the young woman.

Lucy was struggling to keep in her snickers. Until she couldn't anymore. Selina began chuckling as well. But when Jim glared her she just huffed and rolled her eyes.

"Oh come on jimmy boy lighten up. Have a laugh. Your partner sure is having a fit." Lucy said trying to get him to ease up.

"Not while this maniac is in the vicinity." He said gesturing to Edward.

"Hey I get it. Jim I really do, this guy sent me to the hospital with a bullet wound in my stomach close to a major artery." She said sighing in resignation.

Edward looked up at her. "YOU!" He said in anger.

"Yes me." She rolled her eyes.

His face began turning red.

"Oh calm down Nygma. We're all on the same side here."

"I'm on no ones side, I'm on my own side."

"And the side that is in your best interest." She finished for him.

"And the-" He did a double take. "Yes the side that's in my best interest."

"And that side is on ours. You hold a major grudge against Oswald Cobblepot, do you not? And he killed your girlfriend, didn't he? He has brought you nothing but confusion, anger, pain...." she paused looking for a reaction. She found the one she wanted. "And yet he still comes out on top. Aren't you tired of it? Tired of him coming out on top, taking advantage of circumstances. Taking advantage of you?"

His frown turned into a grin. "And what exactly is in it for me?"

"Revenge." Lucy grinned. "And not to mention, a place in the empire."

"The empire?"

"Yes Oswald's old empire will be our new empire. And he will be among the street rats, unable to do anything about it."

"Hmm..." He said looking lost in thought.

"Do we have a deal?" She asked seriously.

"Does the clock tick every second?"

"Yes." She grinned.

*Meanwhile with Oswald*

His men were beginning to get on edge as the rumors of war between Lusciana and Oswald broke out.

Oswald tried to console them saying, "Fear not my friends! She may have strength but she doesn't have strength in numbers, nor in strategy!"

That settled them very little.

One of the men yelled, "it's your fault we're going to war with her!"

"I assure you, everything will be fine!"

On the inside however he was panicking he wasn't expecting this kind of retaliation from her. He wanted to overthrow fish so that they could rule together. But she didn't see it that way.

*Back to Lusciana*

Her plan was coming together just nicely. She had even gotten Edward and Jim to act civil toward each other within the past few hours.

Selina was working on tactics and stealth skills with the others. Jim was taking the lead by making sure they weren't committing any crimes within their plan. Ivy was working on her experiments. She had already made a lipstick that made people tell the truth. She had made it a while ago after she rescued Oswald.

Now she was making a perfume that made men do whatever she wanted. She was using Harvey as a test subject. Lucy was slightly opposed to the idea, but Jim was working on the plan and he couldn't afford to be distracted. She couldn't use Edward because the perfume would muddle his excellent mind. And Lucy needed his knowledge, she needed him to be as aware as possible.

Edward was devising a plan to trick Oswald into meeting them on her turf. Which would be an old warehouse that Don Maroni used to own before Don Falcone got a hold of it.

Then fish had usurped Falcone and no one knew who it belonged to anymore. But Lusciana knew it had belonged to Fish before Oswald murdered her.

Therefore it was her turf. Her territory. And all Edward had to do was pretend to have information on Lusciana's plans against him. Oswald would come alone, and if he didn't? Selina would infiltrate the group of men. And make sure that the men who came with him, were men who approved and were loyal to Lusciana.

Their plan was soon going to be put into action. Selina would also be infiltrating them not only to recruit some men to their cause but to also gain Oswald's trust and then when the time comes betray him. Just as he had to Lusciana.

Selina would feed him lies, and he would gobble them up. She would tell him some of her "plans" in which would actually be staged. When Oswald goes to Jim about it, Jim would "arrest" her. And all his problems would be "gone".

No his problems would just be beginning.
