14. Awake and Alive?

Fish had found out that Oswald betrayed her. Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock had come around asking questions about the Wayne case. To which Jim had later solved. He said he got a tip. And it all led back to fish. However fish knew who the traiter was seeing as how Oswald was the only one to see her with the pearls. And thus led Don Falcone to be involved. Jim And Harvey were under strict orders to kill penguin. If Jim didn't, Harvey was supposed to kill them both.

Jim shot Oswald in the leg and Oswald fell into the river. Seeing as the job was "done", Harvey and Jim went back to the GCPD.

Edward Nygma the medical examiner for the GCPD had been having unusual tendencies lately. More than the odd riddle here and there. He had murdered Tom Doughtery. He forged a note to Kristen saying he had to go away to better himself. Edward cleverly encrypted the message with his last name. His crush or obsession on Miss Kristen Kringle only increased once he had finally gotten rid of the competition.

Once Kirsten found out what Ed had done however she freaked out. And in attempt to calm her, he had killed her. He left a note stating she had left to be with Tom Doughtery. Eventually Jim Gordon discovered his crime and Edward was sent to Arkham.

Isabelle had now been dead for a few months. Her newfound abilities only now stabilized. Doctor strange had just revitalized her. However there was no response.

Jim Gordon had set out a search warrant and raided Arkham Asylum. He found Hugo strange in the basement in front of Isabelle's dead body.

"Put your hands up where I can see them!" Jim said raising his gun.

Harvey came bumbling in after him.

"What the hell?! Is that Isabelle Pennington?!"

"It would seem so." Jim said cuffing the doctor. "Go get Dr. Thompkins!"

"Are you sure?!"

"Damnit Harvey just go call her!"

"Fine, quit being a putz!" Harvey said going to call the good doctor.

Harvey called the doc.

"Bring her to the GCPD. I'll examine her there." She said and hung up.

"Got it." Jim said hustling Hugo out the asylum.

-back at the GCPD-

"Lee!" Harvey yelled.

"Yes?" She said walking out of her office.

"We have a body in the M.E's office. I want you to take a look at it."

"Alright I'm heading there now."

-Lee's POV-

I put my gloves and face mask on. I began checking her over. When suddenly I caught movement from her fingers.

I thought I was seeing things. So I took my gloves off and washed my hands. I got my clip board and began writing the autopsy.

I heard a gasp of breath and coughing as I looked up.

"Holy shit!" I gasped startled.

"W-where..."

"Your at the GCPD and you've been cleared of all charges Miss Pennington." I told her.

"W-water..." She croaked. I got a paper cup from the dispenser by the wall. I filled it with water and gave it to her as she sat up.

"My name? What's my name?"

I looked at her exasperated. I've never seen a situation like this. Once someone is dead they usually stay dead. Had she forgotten who she is?

"Your name is Isabelle Jessylin Pennington and you are 21 years old and you have no known living family."

"Where do I go then?"

"I don't know. You can stay here for today and I'm sure by tomorrow someone will be here to pick you up."

"Thank you miss?"

"Lee Thompkins. But you can call me Lee."
