A young Evie sat by herself on a table with a sketchpad and color pencils in front of her. Her dad had taken both girls to the park for a little while because Diana insisted on getting to hang out with Adam. Evie made sure she took her art supplies because she had no intention of running around.

A couple of weeks prior she had told her dad that she was going to become a great artist, and that her art would be sold around the world. Charles loved that his daughter was a dreamer, it reminded him of his late wife, so he bought her art supplies for her to paint as much as she wanted. But seeing as how she was the only kid on the playground sitting at a table, all by herself he wondered if he did the right thing by indulging her.

Evie was oblivious to her father's thoughts and kept drawing what was around her. When she was distracted changing colors a gust of wind blew by and her drawing was blown with it. She got up as fast as she could and ran after it. She was so focused on catching up to the paper she didn't see she was about to bump into someone. Without noticing she bumped into a small blonde boy. Both kids fell to the ground with a sound of pain.

Evie then looks at the boy laying next to her, "I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention. I didn't mean to make you fall." When he answered "Yeah, well, it happened anyways.", rudely, she glanced at him wide eyed. "I already apologized. I was just chasing my drawing. I didn't see you were in the way." "Yeah, and I was trying to find my ball. My brother kicked it and it ended up on that tree. And now I can't find it."

She then looks up at him smiling "If you help me find my drawing, I'll climb that tree and get your ball for you." "Really?" "Yup." she says popping the 'p'. "Okay. You've got yourself a deal."

Both kids then walked around in search of the drawing. A few minutes later the small boy saw something flapping in a bush. He walked towards it and picked it up. When he picked it up he saw it was a drawing, he then ran to the small girl. "I think I found it." "Really? Thank you.", she takes the piece of paper and smiles.

Quickly she looks up and says, "Now it's my turn. Come on. We have to go get your ball." Both kids then ran towards the tree where they had fallen. Evie turns to him and hands him the drawing, "You take care of that. Don't let it fly away again. I'll be right back.", she then starts to climb the tree, with no worries. Once she sees the ball she reaches forward and hits it until it falls to the floor. Slowly and carefully she climbs back down smiling. She picks up the ball and holds it out to the boy, "There you go. As promised."

"Thank you, here's your drawing. It's actually really cool." "Thanks. I'm Evie by the way." "Nice to meet you. I'm Nick." both kids hung out for a while until Charles called out to his daughter that it was time to go home.

She turned to the boy with a smile, "I have to go. Thanks again for helping me." "Yeah, you too." he stays quiet as she begins to walk away.

He then calls out to her, "Hey, Evie! Do you wanna hang out tomorrow? Maybe you can teach me how to draw." "Yeah. I'll see you here tomorrow." she answered smiling and walking towards her dad and sister.

The next day turned to weeks and then months and the two kids quickly became friends. One of those days Nick and Evie were sitting down at the park eating ice cream when Evie turned to him and said, "Nick, let's always be friends, okay?" "Yeah. Always. Even when you're old." "You'll be old too." "No. I don't think so." "Well, I know so." when she saw he was about to lick his ice cream she smiled to herself and pushed his hand.

This action caused the boy's nose to be covered in the sugary substance. The boy then turned to her, "You are going to regret that." mocking him she said, "No. I don't think so." laughed and then began to run because the boy started to tickle her. Once she began running the boy wasted no time in chasing after her. All that could be heard was the laughter of both kids, simply having fun.
