21. Night to Remember

*Evie's prom dress.*

When the 5 teens return to the abandoned house from Hudson Fields they tell the rest of the circle and Blackwell what had happened. 

Melissa, still a little in denial, speaks up, "There's no way you saw Nick. He's dead." 

Jake then reassures her, without looking up, "It was Nick. He even had a picture of our parents." 

Evie gives his hand a squeeze while Adam says, "This is impossible, even by our own insane standards." 

Blackwell then interrupts, "Maybe not. It's possible that when Nick drowned, the demon didn't. And it kept his body alive." 

Faye then says, "Looks like our insane standards just got a lot insaner." 

Melissa then stands up and tells them, "The point is Nick is alive." 

Cassie then tells her, "But he's not the same Nick we know. I saw him." 

Faye then looks at her friend "He definitely seems more into massacring people than he used to." 

"He's killing witch hunters. Isn't that what we're trying to do?" 

Jake then looks at her and adds his point of view, "They were mauled, like by an animal." 

"Since when do animals want crystals? Guys. Nick is stuck in a nightmare. He is probably lost and scared and disoriented. We need to help him." 

Jake then gets upset, lets go of Evie's hand, gets up and yells at Melissa, "Whatever it is, whoever he is, it's not Nick!" 

"It is not that black-and-white, Jake." "Death? Yeah, it is." 

Melissa then walks away from them, really upset and Adam tells the blonde boy, "She loved him." 

"She needs to move on." causing the brunette boy to walk after Melissa as well. 

Evie gets up from her seat, gives Jake's hand a squeeze and whispers in his ear, "I'll see you later.", before pecking his cheek and grabbing her things alongside her twin. 

They try to walk out when Blackwell speaks up, "Girls... Evie. Diana. Can I talk to you, please?" 

Evie then speaks up for both of them, "No. We're here for them. The less we have to talk to you, the better." 

Cassie then says, "Guys--", however Diana interrupts her, "Cassie, I know you want to believe him, but we don't trust him any more than we did before." 

They both then walk away with Blackwell calling after them. Cassie then stops him from going after them, "They're still adjusting to this whole father-daughter thing." 

"We need them to assemble the crystal skull. Without the skull we can't stop Eben and the witch hunters from killing us." 

"Don't we need to find the last crystal first?" 

"Adam and Melissa unlocked it." "They did?" 

"But all we know is that it's somewhere in the high school. But Balcoin blood has a special connection to the crystals. It should pinpoint it's exact location. It can lead you right to it." 

He then explains to her what to do in order to find the crystal without him.

The blonde girl then heads to the school and does what she's told by her father. After drawing the symbol on the floor she sees her mother, form the past, pass right by her. She follows her, but loses her.
