June 23, 2010.

"Valdez!" Via shouted. "The wires are doing the weird sparking thing again!"

Leo swore in Spanish. "Again? Come on man, work with me," he spoke to the wires. "I just fixed you yesterday. What do you want from me?"

He walked over from his table in Bunker Nine and came to Via's. Via was working on the protective shields for the Argo II. If there were going to be eight demigods on the ship, they would need some serious protection.

"We have two days left to leave. This has to stop happening, or we won't be able to leave in time." Via kicked a boulder, frustrated. She yelped in pain.

"Calm down, Livs," Leo said. "It's not going to delay anything. Look, it's fixed."

Via looked over to her table and sure enough, the wires weren't sparking electricity anymore. She took her cup of coffee and gulped it down, the heat burning her throat.

Suddenly, Via's phone buzzed. When she looked at the screen, her mom's number flashed brightly.

"Hey, my mom's calling me. Gimme a minute."

Leo nodded.

Via walked outside the bunker. "Mom, you know I'm not in camp right now— Mom? Are you crying? What happened? Is everything okay?"

"Oh god," her mom sobbed. "Via you didn't- you didn't get a call? Or a voice message?"

"I-I don't know, I have to check. Why? What are you talking about?"

"I did. Check. Check right now. Oh my god."

Her mom tended to keep her tears in, so something must have really happened for her to breakdown like this.

"You're crying because you got a voice message?"

"Just check!"

"Alright, alright."

Via ended the call and went back inside the bunker. Leo looked at her curiously.

"Who was that?"

"My mom. She was crying, and she told me to check my voice messages. I have no idea what's going on." Via checked her inbox, and sure enough, there was one unseen voice message from an unknown number. She put it on speaker and set the phone on the table.

"Hey, Vi."

Via froze.

"I'm alive. Hera—she put me to sleep for a while and then she took my memory. I'm getting them back, bit by bit, and I managed to remember your's and mom's number, heh..."

Via shook her head. Oh my god. Oh. My. God.

The speaker's voice faltered. He cleared his throat.

"Anyways, I'm okay. I'm so sorry. I'm on a quest—ah, man, I shouldn't have told you that. You'll be worried now. But don't be. I'll be fine. Take care of yourself. I'll come back home soon, I promise. I love you."

It took Via a few seconds to realise that the voice message had ended. She took the phone with trembling hands, and hurriedly called the number back. No answer.

"Livvy?" Leo asked, cautiously. "Was...was that who I think it was?"

Via couldn't answer. There was a painful lump in her throat.

Leo put a hand on her shoulder, shaking Via out of her daze. "Via?"

Via let out a breath, her heart giving a slow thump. She nodded.

"That was Percy."

➵ I can't believe we're finally done. I'm so happy to see all the love in the comments and votes, and I truly hope you enjoyed this journey as much as I did.

And yes, I did do a whole revamp of this book. It used to be called ethereal, and while I'll always be attached to that name, I originally started writing this book nearly three years ago and I've changed too much as a person to continue with some of the things as i started out with. I hope you all like the changes <3.

Leo Valdez's casting has been changed to Inãki Godoy, who I truly think is so perfect for the role. And I may change Via, Percy and Annabeth's casting too with the tv series coming out ( WHICH I AM SO EXCITED FOR).

The second book is called Dream! I'll start posting that in some time. As you all know, my posting schedule is very erratic (even thought I've tried and failed to be on a schedule) so i hope you'll be patient with me.
