I did everything that I could do get the picture of that woman and the little girl out of my mind for the next few months as I buried myself into my work.
I returned home late at nights, drinking my life out at a bar to relieve my stress.
It didn't help that when I returned home, Karen will always be complaining and whining about how little attention I shower on her.
I can only bitterly smile at her, and say sorry.
“Why aren't you at home anymore oppa?” She whined, tugging onto my arms and stomping her feet like a spoiled little child, “Don't you love me?”
I never did love you.
“Sorry Karen, but I'm really busy,” I tiredly said.
“But aren't you tired? You've been leaving early in the mornings and returning late at nights,” she continued to say in her squeaky, annoying voice, “You should take a break. We should have some quality time together.”
“Min Hee, look, I told you right? When my parents and your parents arranged this marriage for us, I warned you that I would be really busy with the company all of the time.”
“But oppa-”
I cut her off, “I'm really tired.”
“Oppa!” She shrieked, angry at me from the bottom of the staircase as I clamoured up the stairs, “OPPA!”
I ignored her and I headed into my bedroom.
Even after a year after our marriage, I couldn't bear to even sleep on the same bed as Karen.
Oh April… The things you make me do without ever knowing…
