CHAPTER 5
Pagkagising ko kinabukasan, nag-ayos na ako bago lumabas. Binulsa ko yung box ng kwintas. Pinuntahan ko si Eli sa kwarto niya, at nakita ko siyang naglalaro. I closed the door and locked it.
"Eli." tawag ko sakanya. She ran up to me and hugged me.
"Good morning, baby." sabi ko. Kumalas ako sa yakap niya. Umupo ako sa gilid ng bed niya at tinawag siya. "Come here."
Agad naman siyang lumapit sakin. I took out the black box, opened and showed it to her. Nagningning ang mata niya sa kwintas.
"Love, this necklace is very important." panimula ko habang maingat na nilalabas ang kwintas. I made her face the other way. "You have to wear it at all times." sabi ko sakanya habang sinusuot sakanya. I made her face me. "Promise mommy that you will never take that necklace off." Malumanay na sabi ko sakanya.
"Yes, mommy. I promise." sabi niya.
"BLove, also promise mommy that you will never tell anyone that you have a necklace unless they actually see it, okay?" sabi ko pa.
"Yes, mommy. I promise." aniya.
Sandali akong nakipaglaro sakanya bago inaya siyang bumaba para kumain ng breakfast.
I left after breakfast. My day went on.

After 4 years...
Lumipas ang tatlong taon. Madaming nangyari. We celebrated Eli's 7th birthday. Naikasal na din kami ni Cal, of course, with Eli, mine and my family's permission. He moved in with us sa bahay, as for my parent's request.
I also met my nephew, Giovaris Alejandro Lucian, during videocall when Cal's family did the 'mamanhikan' tradition. He is a year younger than Eli but, the same grade as her.
They also met Eli, pero I doubt na maalala niya pa yun.
Si Lisa? She moved back to her condo. Sabi ko, 'wag na, pero she insisted kaya wala na din akong nagawa.

"Eli! Bumaba ka na dito, malalate ka na!" sigaw ko. Bumaling ako kay Zav. "Zav, akyatin mo na siya, please." sabi ko sa kanya.
"No need, babe. Ayan na siya." aniya.
Nakita ko si Eli na naglakad papasok ng dining, agad siyang inasikaso ni Paula. At, oo sa tagal ng panahon, sila parin ang kasambahay namin dito.
