Zak and Sara fell into a nice routine at her home over the next two weeks. He worked every day, for much of the day, while she rested as much as she was able. The Jacuzzi seemed to expedite her recovery, so a nighttime dip seemed an easy addition to their routine.

Sara's appointment for her next set of scans was set for the following week. She was hopeful Doctor Harp would give her the green light to resume any and all of her normal physical activities. Sara had put a positive spin on her car accident – her recovery time had given them a chance to get to know each other without as much of a physical component. But she was just about done with waiting, and she was pretty sure Zak was too. He'd been a consummate gentleman throughout this whole ordeal, though, a trait she very much appreciated.

Sunday, Zak worked in her study, while Sara settled in on her sofa and scrolled through the sea of movie channels. "Seven Pounds" was about to start, a personal favorite of hers. She stretched out and started watching.

Zak snuck up on her. "What are you watching?"

"Seven Pounds."

"Have I seen this?" Zak asked.

"I don't know...have you?" Sara laughed.

He climbed cautiously onto the sofa and stretched out behind her. Gently, he put one arm under her neck and another arm around her waist. They stayed like that for the rest of the movie.

Another movie she relates to on a personal level, Zak thought.

Sara sat up carefully. "Watching movies like this helps me make sense of things that are difficult for me to comprehend otherwise."

Her thoughts wandered somewhat and trailed off, at least from Zak's point of view. "Will Smith's Ben had his demons, much like my mom had hers...well, we all do..." She got up from the sofa. "Can I get you anything from the kitchen?"

Zak watched as she walked to the fridge. Sara's demons are how her mom and dad died, and how she wishes she could have stopped one or both from happening. "I'm okay for now."

A second later, his phone dinged. It was a text from Aaron.

All the boxes have arrived, bro

Zak typed a quick response:

Thanks, man!

"Hey, Sara?"

"Hey, Zak?" She laughed as she returned to the sofa.

"I need to go back to Vegas. Will you come with me?"
