"Sara, I need to go to the museum for a while. Do you want to come with? And then we can figure out dinner?"
"Actually, I'd like to make a Trader Joe's run. I can do that while you're at the museum."
Zak looked at her, confused. "Why?" There's plenty to eat in the cabinets. What could she possibly need at Trader Joe's?
"I want their Salt & Pepper Potato Chips."
Amused, he replied, "Salt & Pepper Potato Chips, huh? What's the occasion?"
Sara grinned. "It's Wednesday evening and Riverdale is on tonight. If I were at home, Ameera and I would be watching it together and having our Salt & Pepper Potato Chips."
"Riverdale? As in Archie and Jughead?"
"Yep, go ahead and say it: 'Nerd.'" They laughed. "We started the Salt & Pepper Potato Chips tradition with American Horror Story, but that season finished, so now it's Riverdale."
"Aha! Well, in that case, I can take you to T.J.'s first and then head to the museum –"
"No, don't worry about it. I want to take my time in the store, browse a little bit. I wouldn't want to keep you from your work. I can take an Uber."
Zak had to agree with her thought process, even if he wasn't thrilled with the idea of Sara's being alone. She ordered a car from her phone. A few minutes passed and her Uber pulled up in front of his house and Sara walked to the front door. "Is there anything you want me to pick up while I'm out?" she called back over her shoulder.
"No, I'm good. Hey, wait..."
"Yeah?" she turned around.
He ran up to the door and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. "Be careful, okay?"
"Okay, I will. I'll text you when I'm on my way back." Zak watched her get into the Uber and drive away.
He sighed heavily and looked around the kitchen for his keys. Got 'em. Do I need a sweatshirt? He saw one of Sara's over-sized Aviator Nation sweatshirts on the back of the sofa. Fuck it, I'm wearing this one!
"Be good Grace, I'll be back soon." Gracie gave him a gentle kiss on the hand, nudging Sara's ring.
