I blushed uncontrollably. My forehead burned slightly where Ra's lips had touched. My brain couldn't process what had just happened fast enough. I took a step back. My legs shook. I closed my eyes and my lips automatically pressed into a smile. It was the first real smile I had in a long time. I opened my eyes again and saw Ra standing in front of me smiling. My heart was pounding. I was almost sure it was going to pound right out of my chest. My mind was racing. What if he just did that just to mess with me? What if he does like me but he doesn't think I like him back? A billion questions formed in my head. I let out a sigh. Ra's expression changed from a smile to a more concerned look. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing," I said too quickly for it to be believable. By this point I was sure my face was more red then a cherry.
Ra tilted his head sideways, "What?" he asked again.
I considered telling him that I liked him. I blushed even more if that was possible. I stared at my feet . I tried to speak but no words formed in my mouth. "I-I," full sentences seemed impossible. "I k-kinda, m-maybe, sorta like you?..." I managed to finish a sentence. I continued staring at my feet blushing like hell. Ra put his hand under my chin and tilted my head up, forcing me to look at him. My body started to shake again. My chin was burning slightly, probably because the god of the sun was touching it. "Really?" He asked. I doubted that I could manage any more words so I just nodded. Ra leaned forwards and pulled me into a kiss, his hand moving from my chin to underneath my ear. His other arm went around my back and pulled my closer to him. I wrapped my arms around him since it seemed like the right thing to do at the time. When he pulled his mouth away from mine I thought I was going to pass out, either from pure bliss or the shock that a god just kissed me.
Ra stood in front of me, smiling and blushing slightly as well. At least his face wasn't bright red and hot like mine was. "I-I'm going....to...uh....go....er...sleep..." I stuttered. I walked past him without waiting for an answer. I opened the door to my room and walked in turning around to close it behind me. I walked across the stone floor and flopped on my bed. Today was probably the best and worst day of my life. Worst because I finally had a crush on a guy who happened to be a sun god. Best because I was kissed by a guy who actually existed. I sighed and a silly grin spread across my face. There was a knocking on my door again. The knocker didn't wait for an answer as for the door opened. "Hey Dark!" The person had a soft girly voice which I identified as Spirit. I raised my head slightly to show that I was listening. Spirit took one look at my face and laughed. "He kissed you didn't he!" She said between spurts of laughter.
"How did you know!?" I yelled slightly surprised, "Can you read minds too?!"
Spirit just laughed harder, "No silly, it's your face!"
I glared at her in slight disbelief. Then again I would expect a teenage mortal girl to understand human emotions better then me. Demons are supposedly a combination of animals and gods. We were given all the diving power of gods, with the exception of the understanding of emotions. Majority of Demons were incapable of emotions of all. Shade and I were considered special examples to emotions. You see, Shade and I were created instead of being bred under normal mortal circumstances. Klaus, the person who created us, had created us from his emotions. Shade was made from jealousy and anger while I was made from depression, bravery and loneliness. Those ended up being the only emotions we were capable of understanding from creation. Along the centuries I was able to learn more human emotions, but Shade seemed to reject them.
I face planted on my bed again and Spirit giggled. I tried to tell her to shut up but my words were suffocated. "You look like you need some sleep girly~" She said as she started to walk out of my room. I just nodded with my face in the sheets. I heard the door click and I sat upright again. My brain had recovered from mental meltdown. I walked over to my desk that sat next to my bookshelf. There was an assortment of gears and cogs scattered over it. If I wasn't so tired I would have considered making something with them, but lack of sleep and pain won over. I walked back over to my bed again and face planted on top of it. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep either.
Almost as soon as I closed my eyes I began to dream. Dreaming was dangerous for Shadows because we could continue living within the dream and never wake up again. Or even worse other Shadows could posses a dream and use it to manipulate you. In my dream, I stood in a place that was familiar, in a bad way. I was in the Shadow Dimension. The ground was a dark black with occasional purple specks. The trees were crooked and had purple patterns inscribed all over them, changing rapidly. On the horizon you could see the castle against a pitch black sky. There was no light other then purple fire and a slight glow from the red moon in the sky. This dimension was parallel to the mortal dimension.
The three dimensions, Divines, Shadows and Mortals, were all connected in a way. The Divines were apart of the Mortal Dimensions atmosphere and the Shadow Dimension was connected through the shadows of objects and beings. If a dimension were to overlap with another dimension it would be considered a realm. For example, the Shadow Dimension was a place to be entered by only Light beings or Shadow Demons. The entire Shadow Realm passes into the mortal world slightly, taking the form of all shadows created by light and opacity of objects and beings. The Divines were the same in a way, only the Divine Realm is made up of the Divine Dimension and the atmosphere of the Mortal Dimension.
In the dream I was standing in a familiar opening. There were few trees nearby. In the clearing I saw a small group of people. Concerned about being seen, I ducked behind one of the few trees and melted into it changing into silhouette form. There were four people standing there. One of them was my sister, easily visible in her purple trench coat. The twins I saw from earlier today were also there along with a man who I didn't recognize. He had black hair and two ears sticking up from the top of his head. His eyes were bright yellow with black where the white would have been. He only wore a black skirt and many gold bangles with a huge flat necklace that covered his shoulders and majority of his chest. The headdress he wore was thin and gold with a cobra protruding from the front, rearing like it was about to spit.
My sister seemed to be very concerned about whatever they were talking about. The mysterious man seemed to say something that was important to her since her facial expression only got worse. I've never seen my sister so concerned about something in her life. The man smirked slightly as though trying to hide something. Whatever they were discussing my sister nodded. The man smiled and said something inaudible from this distance. One of the twins then opened a portal and all of then walked through it, my sister sulked through last. The dream faded away as I woke up, back to reality.
