When we got to our street Kuroo turned to look down at me,
"I really don't want to go home, I'll miss you too much."
   I smiled up at him.
"I don't want you to either."
Kuroo was silent for a second I till his face lit up.
"Well since we're both going to miss each other why don't I spend the night tonight?"
My heart leapt out of my chest and starred to flutter as fast as hummingbird wings.
    "U-uh su-ure if you want."
He gleamed down at me flashing his snowy white teeth.
    "Of course I do."
We let go of our hands when we turned on our street. We headed toward my gate and I proceeded to stick my key in the lock and turn it when I noticed that the lights on my house were already on.
Hmm, that's weird, I was sure I turned them on, surely they aren't...
When I pushed open the gate there it was a sleek black car in the driveway.
    My parents were back home.
Kuroo seemed to notice this too and his face fell.
"Looks like tonight's not a good night. Night Blondie I'll facetime you later."
    "Bye Kuroo see you tomorrow"
My voice was filled with disappointment, I wanted Kuroo to spend the night. Kuroo could hear the disappointment in my voice and turned back around and gave me a quick kiss. Even though it was quick it was enough to make my heart race. My face flushed and I out my hand over my mouth. Kuroo looked at me and blew me a kiss, before walking off he said.
   "Nighty night Pudding-Head."
I waved at him with my opposite hand since my other one was still covering my mouth from a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. After seeing Kuroo disappear behind his front gate I proceeded to go through mine and close it behind me.
I walked up to my pathway and stopped at the door. I could hear two faint voices inside the house and soft movement. I took a deep breath, I didn't want to have to deal with them tonight. I gently twisted the knob to the front door open and slowly pushed it open without making a sound. I gradually slipped off my shoes and crept my way up the stairs without them hearing my entrance.
When I made my way upstairs I slipped into my room and shut the door very slowly making sure there wasn't even a click when the door closed. I set my bookbag down next to my door and pulled my clothes off. I slipped on a dark gray hoodie and light gray sweat pants and took another deep breath before leaving my room to head back down the stairs.
As I reached the bottom of the stairs I could hear my mom in the kitchen talking to my father.
"-Does he always come home this late. Where is he?"
I stopped listening and made very loud movements to make my presence known. My feet pattered loudly on the floor when I made my way into the kitchen. I crossed the opening into the kitchen and saw my mother cooking and my father sitting on a barstool working on his laptop with papers stacked across the counter, surrounding him. My mother didn't even look up at me she just said a simple,
    "Hi Kenma"
Short and simple, just like always.
    "Hello."
I pulled out a chair from the table and sat down. I fidgeted on my phone trying to figure out what to do to pass the time in this uncomfortable situation.
Around 20 minutes had passed when my mother set plates down in front of me and two other chairs. My mom sat in one and my father in the other.
We began to eat when my mother set down her fork,
    "Kenma, we have to talk."
