I set my fork down and looked up at her.
My mother and father were both looking at me, was it bad news?
    "Ok so-"
   My mother started,
"We both *ahem* your father and I have both decided to move back in and work from home."
I could feel my blood pressure spike, and my hard go a little dizzy. The only thing I could think of saying in that moment was,
    "Why?"
For some odd reason when I asked my mother this she looked offended and possibly surprised. Why would she make that face, it's not like she exactly stayed around long.
Well actually both of them never stayed around long. Just long enough to hear them walk in the door after a long business trip at twelve in the morning.
"Why?! That's because we have never spent much time with you and your growing up fast, we miss you a lot."
She said matter-of-factly like it was right in my face.
She glanced toward my father and nodded. He cleared his throat and began speaking,
"We have already cleared stuff up at both of our workplaces so starting today we are working from home. We will occasionally have to go into the offi but not too often."
I shrugged and nodded I didn't pry anymore. I felt like there was another reason but I knew my stubborn mother would never tell me why. I also knew my father wouldn't because he followed whatever my mom did and didn't like to talk much anyways, he was a pretty quiet person.
After a couple of minutes passed my mother pressed me about how I was and how school was going.
I gave her very minimal answers, I didn't like talking while I ate. She kept going on about how skinny I was and that I quote,
"Needed to get some meat on my bones."
She also began to talk about the fact that I play volleyball and that it wasn't,
    "a sport for real men."
I just stiffly nodded at whatever she said rarely lifting my head to look up from my plate. My father on the other hand didn't like talking much either.
He just occasionally nodded absently when my mother wanted him to agree with her. I liked my father a little more than my mother, I could get along with him better. He also didn't force his opinions on others and didn't project them onto others. He just kept them to himself.
I always wondered how they even got together, they were nothing alike physically or mentally.
My father was a very tall person, with light brown hair and wore glasses. My mother was short, petite, and had strawberry blonde hair.
My mom was very vocal with everything she did, making everything known to the world. My father was quiet, loved to read, and often threw himself into his work. I'm not saying that they don't love each other though, it just that they are completely polar opposite's.
