I wake up to my phone screen lighting up, displaying messages. They're all from that Kenma guy.

Kenma:

I guess not, sorry for disturbing you.

Me:

I'm really sorry for not responding, I was asleep.

Me:

did you need something?

Why would he be talking to me again? I have no issue with it but we don't know each other yet he's starting random conversations like it's nothing. Besides, what time is it? Great, it's 2 AM. I have school today. If he's in high school, shouldn't he have school today as well?

It's fine. I was just wondering if you play video games? None of my friends are too interested in playing with  me.

Me:

Yeah I do. But it's really early, don't you have school today since you're in high school?

Kenma:

Yeah but I can't sleep.

Me:

alright , I'll give you my info for online games.

I send him my username. Seconds later, I receive a notification that a user added me. I hop online and add them back. ApplePi.

Well, we should play something simple together. I'll call you so that It's easier for us to talk while playing.

I wait two seconds before I pick up, I don't want to seem too eager. I smile as I hear his calm, quiet voice.

" Hey" He says.

" Hey" I respond awkwardly.

" You can go ahead and join my game" I join and see that he's so much more experienced in this game than me.

" Holy shit, you're good."

" Ah, thanks. Well what should we do?"

" We could try to hunt each other down. You know what I mean? Like build our own bases and then try to kill the other person. Whoever dies first has to send the other person a picture of themself"
