Your first day at U.A. had ended with a few bumps in the road but otherwise, it was pretty nice. Once you had gotten back in class, you were bombarded with questions and introductions from some of your other classmates which was pretty amazing. Bakugo continued to keep his distance after that but whenever you crossed paths with his eyes, he seemed to glare before clicking his tongue.
You momentarily forgot about the heterochromatic eyes from before.
Now that school was out for the day, you rolled by Midoriya as Iida inquired about his bandaged finger, afterward talking about Mr. Aizawa.
"I didn't think a teacher would encourage us with a lie," Iida said with a cross of his arms.
"Oh, b-but," Midoriya muttered out, his eyes bouncing from you to the concrete, "didn't you say it..wasn't?"
Iida's eyes widened as a look of realization dawned on him.
"That's right! How did you know?" He inquired as he turned to look at you.
"Well, Mr. Aizawa is one of a kind, isn't he? I did a little research on him too though. But I don't know any other teacher who would make an appearance as a banana slug." You said as you lightly rolled beside Midoriya.
Turning to you, Midoriya spoke up through a blush, "B..banana slug? If Mr. Aizawa heard that.." a shudder seemed to pass through you two at the mere thought.
"We'd be dead in 10 seconds flat, I'm sure..." You trailed off.
"A banana slug? Are you referring to this morning?" Iida questioned.
"Yeah. I have a feeling that won't be the last time he comes to class with it."
Before anyone had a chance to answer, a soft voice calls out from behind, "Hey! You three!"
Stopping in your tracks, you all turn around to look, spotting Ochako running towards you guys with a smile, "Going to the station? Wait for me!"
She stopped in front of you guys as Iida spoke up, "You're the infinity girl."
Straightening up, she smiled at him, "I'm Ochako Uraraka. Um, you're Tenya Iida," she turned to you, "(L/n) (Y/n)," and then to Midoriya, "and you're Deku Midoriya, right?"
Midoriya tensed at that, "Deku?!"
Isn't that what Bakugo called him? Is it bad?
"Huh? But during the fitness test, the boy named Bakugo said--" she began.
"Uh.." he started, hands moving from side to side as he looked up and down with a blush, "my real name is Izuku, but D-Deku is what Kaachan calls me to make fun of me..."
Oh, so it is bad. Well, it's not like I trusted Bakugo to say something nice.
"An insult?" Iida asked with a hand on his chin.
"Oh, is that right?" Ochako and Midoriya scratched the back of their heads as she apologized. His eyes still couldn't find hers yet either.
"But "Deku" sounds like the Japanese word for "You can do it!" She pumped a fist up with a smile, "so I kinda like it."
"I'm Deku!" Deku said now a bright red, eyes going wide.
You let out a laugh at his reaction.
"Midoriya?" Iida called out in concern, "You're accepting it too easily! Wasn't that an insult?"
Turning to said blushing boy who had his hands hiding his face, he spoke, "It's like a Copernican Revolution..."
Smiling, you spoke up as well, "I think it's great Ochako found a better meaning to it." You turned to Midoriya, "You can own it and Bakugo won't ever be able to use it against you because now, it really means something."
