A week had flown by since the last time you saw Milk yet his face seemed to visit you regularly when life got too much to bear. Now, you were finally allowed to go outside your house without your dad, Rai(Lionet), and bodyguard. Even uncle Tji had given you an earful the last time you escaped to the park.

Gathering blood to float above your palm for the 100th time, you struggled to shape it into something other than a liquid squiggle.

Looking to the white-haired man also known to you by Kan, your brows furrowed and teeth clenched. When he nodded, you turned back to the dummies and pulled your fingers inwards, and watched as the waves started straightening up, the liquid beginning to finally shape up.

Your eyes widened, the corners of your lips turning up.

Finally!

Watching as the blood began spinning at an incredible speed, you pulled your arm back, forcing your fingers further inwards steadily, and let go.

It flew straight towards the dummy and, once you felt that you were finally doing it, it swerved to the left through two other ones making your smile drop. It continued to swerve through the fence only to come back and destroy another three dummies, afterward bouncing back and forth cracking your windows, and walls.

"No!"

Once it had left a steaming hole through nearly everything around you and Kan was backing you slowly towards the safety of your house, it made one last swerve and aimed right towards you. Your breath hitched, your own quirk inches from tearing a hole through your skull when a hand blocked your view and closed down on the bullet, sizzling it out.

Kan hissed quietly as he clutched his fist and tossed the blood to the ground, now just red goop.

You could only stand there with the same expression. Lips parted and spacing out until it all registered.

I failed.

"You almost got it," He said, a hand on your shoulder. "Don't give up yet."

Your head hung low, gaze dropping to your shoes. Almost was no longer enough.

"No." You muttered, fists clenching.

"Wh--"

"I SAID NO! I DIDN'T ALMOST GET IT! DIDN'T LAST TIME, DIDN'T THIS TIME! I JUST FAILED! AGAIN!" You shouted, glaring at your mentor and shoving his hand off your shoulder.

Turning around, you stomped to the backdoor of your house and slammed the screen open, shaking the walls and leaving red handprints on the frame.

Footsteps approached you, "(Y/n)!"

Slamming it closed, you walked away not caring that it bounced back open because it was a sliding door or that you were making the floors dirty with your shoes and blood. Making your way past the kitchen, you could see your pops and uncle Tji lean out of the arch to it from your peripherals.
