The Giant Asgardian

Chapter 7: Jealous

"Brother, you need to understand that I didn't shrink them. I mean honestly, why do you think I would do such a thing? How would that benefit me?", asked Loki. Thor didn't take his eyes off of Peter and Y/n, who were currently cupped in Thor's hands, sitting next to each other. Thor was trying to think of ways to keep his small teammates away from his brother. "Loki you know exactly why I would think that. You've betrayed me in the past I don't know how many times", said Thor.  "Yes, in the past I'll admit I was terrible to you, but for me to kidnap your teammates who just so happen to be children, that would be utterly ridiculous, even for me, don't you think?", asked Loki. Not a word came from Thor. Loki sighed and said, "Just ask the children. Ask them if I was the one to do this or not."

Thor looked hesitant at first, but he listened to Loki and asked, "Peter and Y/n, did my brother do this to you?" The children looked at each other, baffled that this was even happening. Peter spoke up and said, "N-No Mr. Thor, you've got it all wrong! Mr. Loki didn't do this to us! W-We..um..we accidentally pressed a wrong button on this ship we were flying around in space and it took us here to Asgard." Y/n joined in and said, "But when we got here, we were tiny!" Thor took a glance over at Loki to see him smirking. "I told you, didn't I? I would never do such a thing to two innocent children. I mean honestly, you must think of me as heartless if you think I were to do that", said Loki. Thor sighed, unsure of what to do now. "This still doesn't explain why they're both small now. Back on Midguard, they aren't small!", exclaimed Thor. "Peter and I were confused as well, but..I think I know why we aren't normal size", said Y/n. Loki perked up and said, "Oh really? And what would the reason be?" Y/n looked over at Loki and smiled saying, "I think it's an Asgardian thing. Like a power you guys have. Your body responds to the size of whatever planet you go to. So when you come to Earth, you're our size and when you come back to Asgard, you're gigantic, to us that is. But, if someone who isn't Asgardian comes to Asgard, they remain their size which causes them to be small to you!" Loki responded and asked, "So are you saying we're actually giants to the mortals on Earth?"

When Loki said it out loud, it made Y/n think about what the two Asgardians would actually look like back home. Just the thought of it made her shiver. They'd be almost as big as the Stark Tower! "Y-Yeah. You are giants to us..", said Y/n, who was obviously shaken up about the whole situation.

"Wait, I do not understand. I have brought a human here myself before and she was our size. How do you explain that young one?", asked Thor, who was utterly confused. "You said you brought her here yourself?", asked Y/n, who in return received a nod from Thor. "Well that explains it! You had to bring her here. Something or someone that is Asgardian needs to be involved in order for another species to change in size to match the Asgardians innate size!", exclaimed Y/n. Loki started laughing and said, "My you are quite the little brain aren't you?" Peter started laughing, causing Y/n to blush.
"I guess that does explain a lot, though. We've had powers we never knew about, brother. Like when you found out you can conjure up lightning without your hammer and when I found out I could remain in below freezing temperatures because of my heritage", said Loki.

Thor wasn't aware of what Loki was saying to him. He was too wrapped up in figuring out how he was going to keep Y/n and Peter out of Loki's grasp. He couldn't have his teammates, who Stark considered as his children, around his brother. "Y/n, Peter, you two will be staying in my room until we can contact Stark to let him know you are both safe", said Thor. He wasted no time in getting up from Loki's bed to make his way to the door. Y/n and Peter were distraught. "B-But Mr. Thor!", exclaimed Peter. Thor didn't even look at his teammates. He knew that they weren't going to agree on his decision, but he needed to keep them both away from Loki. As much as he wanted to trust Loki, he just couldn't and especially with his two youngest teammates.

Y/n felt like jumping off of Thor's hand and sprinting back over to Loki. He didn't hurt them whatsoever since they first arrived on Asgard. Yes, Loki scared Y/n and Peter half to death, but wouldn't you be scared if you were standing in front of a 65 foot tall giant, who just so happened to be the God of Mischief? And after realizing how much terror he caused for them, Loki even tried to make Y/n and Peter feel safe and protected. With the emotions Y/n was feeling, she did the only thing she could think of and climbed to the edge of Thor's hand, trying her best to look at Loki for probably the last time. The two made eye contact and she burst out into tears. "Mr. Loki!!", she exclaimed, holding her arms out signaling she wanted to be with the God of Mischief rather than the God of Thunder.

Loki on the other hand couldn't believe what he just heard. His brother was going to take his only friends away from him? He hasn't hurt either of the children and yet Thor still wouldn't believe that he has changed. When he saw Y/n crying and reaching out to him, however, Loki became infuriated. He cloned himself and teleported right in front of the door, just as Thor was about to open it. "Loki, move", said Thor. Loki chuckled and said, "I am not. How dare you try and take my little friends away from me. I want them both home just as much as you do. And for you to keep them from me locked away in your room? How cruel is that?!", yelled Loki.

Y/n put her arms up towards Loki again, letting him know that she wanted to be picked up. Loki gently smiled at her and was about to grab her, but Thor backed up and held Y/n and Peter close to his chest. Loki felt a small amount of jealousy rising up in him. He didn't like that he wasn't the one holding Peter and Y/n.

"For Odin's sake Thor! This is madness! At least let one of them stay here with me for company!! I am locked in this room everyday, alone with no one to talk to. When these two humans came into my life, I was the happiest I've ever been in a long time. And you don't even care. You have friends back on Earth who you could call family. I don't have that luxury, Thor. I never did!", yelled Loki.
Thor stared at him for a few seconds. "Loki, I-I..", Thor couldn't even find the right words to say. Maybe he should give his brother a chance. If something were to happen to the children, though, Stark would be sure to have Thor's head.

He sighs and says, "Alright Loki, I will allow them to stay with you." Loki's eyes widened with pure joy. The clone Thor was talking to disappeared. Loki, who was standing by his bed the whole time, started walking towards Thor, ready to take his small friends back, and says, "It's about time you come to your senses Th-.." Thor raises his hand, gesturing for Loki to pause. "I am only allowing one of the children to stay with you for the time being. They both can be with you whenever I have free time to make sure nothing happens to them", says Thor.
Loki looked dumbfounded. "I want both of them to stay here with me", said Loki coldly. Thor shook his head, saying, "No can do. How about we let the children decide amongst themselves as to who is going with who for the rest of the day?"
Thor slowly raised Peter and Y/n up to his face. Loki moved closer to Thor and now, both brothers were staring at Y/n and Peter.

"Pete, what are we gonna do?", asked Y/n. "Rock, paper, scissors for who goes with Loki", said Peter, grinning ear to ear. Y/n grins and says, "Oh you're on."

Y/n and Peter stood up and immediately started the game. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!", said Peter and Y/n in unison. They both tied with paper. "Let's go again!", exclaimed Peter. Y/n couldn't stop laughing at how absurd this was and Loki was more than confused. "What are they doing?", whispered Loki. Thor chuckled, saying, "It's a Midguardian game young children like to participate in. It is quite amusing. I can teach it to you if you-..", Thor was interrupted. "No", said Loki, plainly.
The giant Asgardians looked back down at the two children. "Ok, last one", said Peter. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!", said Peter and Y/n. Peter had rock and Y/n had paper. "Ha! Yes! I win!!", said Y/n, who was well overjoyed to have beat Peter. "Aw man", said Peter.

Y/n turned towards Loki and said, "Mr. Loki! I get to spend the rest of the day with you!" A smile found it's way quickly onto Loki's face. Y/n was bouncing up and down in pure excitement. "Excellent choice", said Loki with a grin on his face. "Climb on, Ms. Y/n, your chariot awaits you",  said Loki. He raises his hand up and levels it next to Thor's hand. Y/n hugs Peter and wastes no time in walking onto Loki's hand. As soon as Y/n sat down in the middle of his palm, Loki held her close to his chest.
Y/n zoned out on the conversation that Loki and Thor were having. She scooted closer to Loki and laid her head against his chest. Y/n closed her eyes and concentrated on how his heart beats practically vibrated through her body. It was calming and a sign that Y/n and Peter would be home safe and sound very soon.

After Thor left the room at last, Loki looked down at Y/n. His eyes softened at the sight of his smallest friend. Y/n's eyes were closed and was curled up in a ball, leaning against Loki. "Who knew, of all the creatures I've come in contact with, that I'd find a mortal so innocent and adorable", said Loki, as he gently ruffled Y/n's hair, not wanting to wake her up.
Loki turned away from the door and started to head back over to his bed. A nice nap could do them both good after what they just had to go through.

"No one will ever take you from me again, little one. Not even my own brother. I will make sure of it", whispered Loki.
