Chapter 6: We Can Explain

Light started to pour through the windows in the Asgardian prince's bedroom, but it was still far too early. A new day was about to begin and Peter was already waking up. Yawning, he said, "Good morning Y/n, how did you sle-.." Peter looked over to his left to find that Y/n was missing. He jumped out of bed, looking around frantically to see if he could find her. Peter was about to call out to Loki to tell him that Y/n wasn't in bed, when he saw something curled up on Loki's chest. Peter had to squint his eyes until he realized that it was Y/n. "When did she go over by Mr. Loki?", Peter said to himself. Without hesitating, Peter ran to the edge of the nightstand and jumped, landing on Loki's bed. He walked closer to Loki and said, "Mr. Loki!" Loki didn't move a muscle. "Is he that tired?", said Peter. "Mr. Loki, wake up!", said Peter once again. Still, Loki didn't move. "Ugh, I need help waking him up. Time to wake Y/n up first then!", said Peter. He hoisted himself up onto Loki's right arm and began walking up it to reach Y/n. He made it to Loki's shoulder and stepped on his chest. "Whoah-..!", said Peter, as he fell down. He got up and continued to make his way over to his friend. 'This is like walking on a mattress', thought Peter. He slowly walked over towards Y/n, who was currently being protected and covered by a gigantic hand. Loki's hand was still draped over her. "Psst! Y/n!", whispered Peter. He bent down next to Y/n and gently started to shake her. "U-Ugh, Peter? What do you want?", asked Y/n as she turned to see Peter looming over her. "Help me wake Mr. Loki up", he said smiling ear to ear. "Pete, first off, I don't want to get up, and second of all, waking him up would be rude. Let's just get up when Mr. Loki gets up", said Y/n.
Peter was about to disagree with Y/n when Loki started to stir in his sleep, causing Y/n and Peter to grab a hold of his shirt. He slowly opened his eyes and looked down at his chest to see both of the tiny humans staring at him. "What are you small ones doing up so early in the morning?", asked Loki, sounding half asleep. "It's time to get up and start the day!", said Peter excitedly. Loki stared at Peter for a moment and began to laugh, causing Peter to lose his balance and fall down. "My boy, do you even know what time it is?", asked Loki. "Umm, I don't know. Maybe around 7am?", asked Peter with pure confusion shining through in his voice while standing back up. Loki rolled his eyes and said, "No, foolish child. It is only 2am. You can obviously tell just by getting a glimpse of what it looks like outside. Didn't that Stark ever teach you how to tell time?", teased Loki while he gently poked Peter in the stomach, causing him to fall down again. "B-But, it's starting to get light outside already!", said Peter. "Yes it is, but time works differently on Asgard young one. Did you not know that?", asked Loki. Peter looked very confused. Loki rolled his eyes again and said, "Oh for goodness sake, you know what-.." Loki grabbed Peter by his ankle, flipping him upside down. "Ahh!", yelled Peter. Loki dangled him above his chest. He moved his hand off of Y/n and plopped Peter down right next to her. "Sleep", demanded Loki. "But I-.." Peter didn't even get to talk. Loki's hand was immediately pressed up against him, including Y/n. Peter was now stuck. Loki practically had him pinned to his chest. Peter squirmed around like a fish out of water for 8 minutes before finally giving in. His eyes closed shut and he fell asleep.
Loki smiled as he felt Peter's futile struggles cease. Loki hated to admit it, but, Peter was right. It was starting to get light out which was causing the bedroom to illuminate. Loki raised his left hand up and snapped his fingers together. Curtains suddenly appeared in front of the windows, blocking out the light that was coming in. The room was now dark and Loki was satisfied with what he just did. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

3 hours pass by

Y/n awoke to the sound of Loki's bedroom door creaking open. Loki's hand was still draped over her and Peter, so she couldn't see what had opened the door. She went to sit up to look at what had just entered the room, but she could barely see who it was. The room was so dark, she couldn't even make out what the person's face looked like. She turned towards Peter, who was fast asleep, and started shaking him back and forth. "Peter!! Peter wake up!!", whispered Y/n. Peter sat up quickly and turned towards Y/n, with an annoyed look on his face. "What is your probl-..", Peter couldn't even finish his sentence. The person that opened the door was now looming over Loki. "Get down!", whispered Peter. He pulled Y/n and himself further underneath Loki's hand, which was now the only barrier between the unknown giant and the human kids. Y/n and Peter were huddling close together, praying that Loki would wake up and make the man leave. Their prays were ignored because suddenly, the man spoke and said, "Brother, wake up!". Y/n and Peter looked at each other instantly. "I-Is that...", said Y/n, who couldn't stop shaking. "..He couldn't possibly know that we're here!", finished Peter.  "Brother, please get up. This is important", said the man. "I can't believe this. It's Thor..", said Y/n. Loki started to stir in his sleep. "Mr. Loki's waking up!", exclaimed Peter. "Let's just hope he doesn't tell Thor that we're here", said Y/n.

Finally, Loki was awake. Once he got sight of his brother, he flinched. "Th-Thor, what are you-..." Loki immediately looked down to see if he had found Y/n and Peter, but to his surprise, they were both hugging each other close underneath his hand. "..what are you doing in here?", finished Loki. Loki was well aware of why Thor was in his room. He just needed to lie his way out of this predicament, for Y/n and Peter. "Loki, Stark contacted me not too long ago and said that his two children are missing. They wanted to fly the Milano around in space NEAR Earth, but ended up activating the hyper speed by mistake", said Thor. Loki raised an eyebrow. "And why should I care? They're your friends. Not mine", said Loki annoyingly. "Brother please. My teammates are missing back on Earth. I cannot handle the fact that their location is unknown and that they aren't safe. These human kids call me "Uncle Thor!" for Odin's sake. They mean a great deal to me", said Thor. Loki gave his brother a blank stare, not saying a word. 'Should I lift my hand and show him they're alright?', thought Loki. He looked down at Y/n and Peter. 'What would be the point in hiding them from Thor? He wants to get the children home just as much as I want to get them home', thought Loki. It was decided then. Loki sighed and mouthed, "I'm sorry", to his two little friends. He lifted his hand away from the children and said, "Thor, they're perfectly fine. Look-..", said Loki. Thor slowly looked down to see Y/n and Peter staring back up at him. "Brother...what did you do to them?!?", exclaimed Thor. He wasted no time and scooped Y/n and Peter up into his hands, earning a small scream out of both of them. "Thor careful!!", Loki got up to go after his brother, who was about to walk out of Loki's room.
"Y/n..Peter..d-did he hurt you? Are you both alright?", asked Thor while he poked and prodded at the two humans. "Thor we-..", Peter went to tell Thor that Loki wasn't to blame, but Thor kept rambling on. Loki stepped in front of Thor, stopping him from leaving. "Brother, why did you shrink them?! They're just children", yelled Thor. Loki's eyes widened and said, "Are you crazy? Do you seriously think I would just go around and shrink people?", questioned Loki. "Well with the things you've done to me before, like when you turned me into a frog for fun, I wouldn't be surprised!", said Thor. "For Odin's sake Thor! Will you let me explain!", yelled Loki. Thor didn't say anything. Instead he forced himself to let Loki explain this mess. "Take a seat on the bed, brother", said Loki. Thor made his way over to Loki's bed and sat down with Y/n and Peter in his hands. Loki snapped his fingers together and the curtains disappeared, allowing light to pour into the room. Loki walked over to Thor and sat down next to him.
