"Hey, Lara! How are you this morning?" A smiling girl, who goes by the name Bethany, walked up to Lara at her locker.

Lara's eyebrow raised, not entirely sure why her classmate was speaking to her, "Uh, I'm good... what about you?"

"I'm fantastic. So me and the girls were wondering if you wanted to join us at the mall Saturday?" she popped her bubblegum and grinned even more at Lara. Bethany was one of the popular girls, which is why Lara was confused as to why she was talking to her,

"Uh, I have band practice tomorrow sorry." That wasn't a lie, she did actually have band practice.

Bethany gasped, "Well, why don't we come pick you up afterward? I'm sure the boys won't mind. You five are always together so I think they will survive an afternoon without you."

"Uh..."

"Great! We'll be there at noon, oh, and make sure to wear something cute. I love," she waved her hand over Lara's outfit, "the whole rocker chick thing you have going on, but flannel and leather clashes with Chanel, and we can't have that."

Lara slowly nodded her head not really understanding what was going on.

"Perfect! See you Saturday!" she waved and bounced away, popping her gum again. Lara watched her leave, noticing how Bethany was wearing a matching plaid outfit, her mini skirt, and jacket both a bright yellow. The whole outfit screamed, "Look at how much money I have!" Lara shook her head if Bethany expected her to wear that there was no way she would hear the end of it from the boys.

"Uh, was Bethany Williams just talking to you?" Bobby asked, leaning against the locker beside hers. Alex was standing to the other side of Bobby, also watching where Bethany left to.

"Ya ya. She was asking if I wanted to hang out on Saturday."

Alex's head spun towards Lara, "Wait what?"

"Ya I told her I had band practice, but she said she would be by at noon to pick me up."

"So you're actually going to hang out with her and her group?" Bobby looked at the girl skeptically.

"I doubt she'll even remember she asked me. And besides, she and I are very different," Lara shook her head closing her locker. The three of them walked out of the school into the parking lot, where Luke and Reggie were waiting on them.

"Guess who just asked Lara to hang out," Bobby leaned against his car, looking at Luke and Reggie.

The two exchanged looks, Reggie looked at Lara questioningly, "Uh who?"

Lara threw her bag in the trunk of Reggie's car, "Bethany Williams."

"Bethany Williams? Seriously?" Luke stopped looking at her.

"Ya, I know. It was weird. Said she'll be at practice tomorrow at noon to pick me up. I doubt she'll even remember."

Luke shrugged and got into Bobby's car, Alex already in the back.

Lara slid into Reggie's passenger seat, as he started his car.

"So you're actually going to hang out with them if they show up?" Reggie pulled out of the school's parking lot.

"Uh, I guess. I mean it would be rude to say no, but I also haven't hung out with a group of girls, like ever."

Reggie laughed, "I know. It's kinda hard to imagine you hanging out with them. They are so... preppy." Lara laughed and nodded. "Wait, is she going to make you wear one of those outfits that she wears? You without a flannel or a leather jacket would be a sight to see."
