Kayleigh POV
We moved silently through the woods in the dead of night. Half my army in the trees the other by ground. Every movement exact and precise.
They didn't know that we were coming, or that they were being surround-boxed in. It wouldn't be long before they before their forces scattered. Searching for a way out not realizing until it was too late there was none.
The moon was full and bright, but the dense branches and leaves left for very little light. Surrounding the land in darkness.
Perfect time for hunting.
Many disagreed with this plan, their reasonings being we weren't the only predators out there, it was harder to navigate in the dark.
I wanted to smile from the look on their faces when I reminded them I was the only predator out there they needed to fear.
This world was my hunting grounds. Could faintly feel the muscles at my lips wanting to twitch but remained still as they watched me obtain the information we needed.
It didn't take long to break the Azgeda scout I had tracked down. His screams filled the air as I slowly peeled his skin from muscle. Starting from the finger tips, I methodically worked my way up his wrists- careful not to cut anything important along the way. He had to live a little longer, he had a purpose still.
Blood spilled from his lips, as he hit down hard trying to stifle the screams wanting to break through. He thought he was strong- but I was made stronger.
In the end, they all break.
By the time I reached his shoulder blade-keeping my movements clean and precise- even as he screamed and struggled to no avail- I knew everything I needed to know about where my enemy was. I knew their numbers, their strategies, their plans.
I knew where they were attacking next and when. When I was done I took a step back, eyes staring blankly at the work before me. Insects flew around and buzzed landing on the exposed tissue and muscles, his pants stained with blood and other bodily fluids. He moaned in pain the best he could. He couldn't say anything anymore. When he stopped talking and just started screaming- I carved out his tongue next- dead men tell no tales.
His fearful brown eyes met mine. I could see the undiluted pain and fear there. He groaned again- tears running down his face mixing with blood and sweat. I could see the silent plea there, read the words he could no longer speak.
"Kill me." They begged. "End this, please."
He asked for mercy.
He wanted it to end..
He begged for death...Stepping closer, hand reaching out grabbing ahold of his jaw jerking his head back up again when it started to lull down. He cries out in pain from my grip alone, I could feel his body tremble and shake, smelled his fear mixed with the scent of metal and copper.
"No." I tell him sharply and his eyes widen more. "You will live to feel all the pain, you and your people have caused to the clans." I say taking my blade and shoving it deep into his hand.
Muscles rip as I pull the blade back out, blood splatters across my face but I simply ignore it.
"Only then, once you feel all of their pain will I release you from this life. Until then.. Drein au na pay kom drein au."
Blood will play with blood.
Turning my back to him I face my army and my generals. The looks on the faces ranged from fear to admiration. I didn't blame them. They watched me hunt this warrior down, bringing him to his knees only to watch me start the process of skimming him alive.
