May the screen hold you when I can't.
A digital window into a space so familiar to me but too far away to touch. You send me poetry and my phone lights up,
Alive with purpose.May the screens be our carrier pigeons.
Sending our love across hills and highways. We share coffee and laughter and you sit propped against a potted plant on my nightstand.
You might take up less room but your smile still fills up so much space.
I take screenshots since I cannot take photos.
May the screen hold all those beautiful memories of you smiling at me.I put on the sweater that smells like you and we have a date on the phone.
If I lay my phone on my pillow and close my eyes it is almost like you're here with me.May the screen bring you as close to me as possible without you actually being here.
Even when you fall asleep,
I dont hang up.
I listen to your breathing until I fall asleep too.
