"Again" He hollered, tightening his loose wrist brace and pushing his round spectacles back up the bridge of his nose.

"Prongs ..." Remus warned, sitting with the girls on the Quidditch pitch grass, watching on from a slight distance.

"Again!" James beckoned again.

"James! For heavens sake, she's had enough!" Lily interjected, wishing the Potter siblings weren't as competitive as one another. James snorted and beckoned again.

It was a week before Quidditch Try outs and James was running his sister through the works. As she was going for seaker, he was testing her visibility skills as hard as he could. June was of course just as stubborn and hot headed as her twin so was making all his drills look easy... the last one however was little trickier. With a tractor tire strapped to a rope and to her back, James was throwing Bludgers her way and seeing how fast she could dodge them. Brutal.

What made it even more difficult? Sirius was the teams beater so was ordered to be the one to hit them in her direction. He was surprisingly finding the whole thing hard to stomach.

"Again!" James chanted, not giving June a second to breathe after the 5th circuit. She wasn't going to be the first to give up.

"Prongs. No more!" Sirius was the first to cave, dropping his bat and quickly caught the bludger as it came around again, shoving it back into the ball trunk. Panting with sweat and red cheeks, June frowned at him - he wasn't one to stop first. Confused and tired, she went to unstrap the rope but fell on her arse and slumped with eyes closed

Smug at his victory, James started to clear up equipment before receiving an earful from Remus, Peter and the girls. With the others not paying attention, Sirius trudged over to June and bent to his knees. Her shaky hands struggled with the tight knot, muttering frustrations. Sirius' hands hovered over her shaken fingers, curling his own over them to keep still.

"He's abusing his team captain powers over you, Juni" he moved her fingers away and undid the knot with ease.

"He's still sour that I could walk before him, let alone ride a broom." her voice let out a shaken chuckle. Sirius grinned, keeping his eyes on the rope. He glanced towards her for a second, seeing the little freckles dotted across her rosy cheeks and wondering how he didn't notice them before. Perhaps it was because he wasn't that close to her face before ...

"Take." Unscrewing the cap to a water bottle, he  passed it to her and watched. The chatter behind them died down, raising suspicion. Peering over his shoulder whilst June was still cooling off, Sirius saw the others silently watching them with smiles and smirks.

He raised a confused brow and turned back around.

"Thank you" June sighed, glaring over his shoulder at her brother. "James you bitch. No more ground drills. Sky! Now!" Using Sirius as a balance, she clambered up from the ground and stormed over.

Sitting back to watch on, Sirius was shocked by June's determination but more importantly impressed with how much she was enduring. He knew she was a good flier, but her dodging skills were fantastic - chaser and beater material also!
He was soon accompanied on the grass by his favourite redhead, her sigh prominent and tired.

"They're just as bad as each other. I can never get the pair of them to slow down." She took the remaining water June was chugging from Sirius' hand and finished it off.

"Mmm, but you know how James can be persuaded.." his smirk rose before he was shot down with a swift smack to his stomach

"Knock it off"

"Woman!" Sirius grunted, clutching at the pain. She grinned and looked at him. Watching him observe around them, she drew a question in her mind.

"Sirius do you like June?" It was blunt and to the point. Classic Lily. He looked back at her, unsure of what was going on.

"Would be weird if I didn't considering she's been our friend since we were 11?" His suspicious grew as he repeated it again in his head. Lightbulb! He knew what she was up too.

"Yes but you've never been close at all. Now you're rather attentive... anything happen over the summer?" She cocked an eyebrow, folded her arms and tried to match his smirk. She was good!

"Other than accidentally walking into her bathroom when I shouldn't have, nothing at all!" He snorted, folding his arms over his knees. Lily's eyes grew to the size of balloons.

"You didn't see...anything... did you?"

"NO!" ... unfortunately... wait what!? A lump formed in his throat, his mind drifting to the details and just like that a new vision, an idea, a question popped into his subconscious. Was this underlying butterfly feeling being caused by June? It can't be - she's been nothing but ... wonderful since the day he's known her. He could feel her fingers in his hair again, drying it from the rain. A hard night, a night he wanted to forget yet remember all the same.

He shrugged towards Lily and turned back to Remus, sparking conversation to draw the attention away. He stole a glance at June as she was flying around. A butterfly feeling... her letter!
