They were greeted with loneliness, the dying embers of the fire and not a soul in sight. June kept hold of his hand as they wandered further into their warm home, back at the start of the conversation.

Shuffling them up towards the back of the sofa, Sirius stood in front of her small frame, looming over her and letting his hair drape down slightly. "Right"

She was latched to his voice, her full attention on every part of him. His nibble fingers found their way to her hips whilst hers own fingers rested on his bicep. "Right" she copied him

"What, dear madam, do we do now that everyone knows about ... us?" Us. Were they an item? Everyone knew that something had to come from all of this now. Nothing to be left unsaid. Now with his true intentions clear he knew what he wanted but of course it was her call to decide...

With his hair still draped forward, his forehead pressed against hers and his palm found her cheek. His grey eyes bore into hers, noticing the little freckles darted around by her lashes. Warm against his palm, he could feel his own temperature rise and boil over. Her finger hovered up ever so slightly as she pushed a strand from his eyes, her beautiful warm smile catching his breath in awe

"You going to kiss me or do I need to peacock a little more?" Her breathy chuckle was light, making the move closer and brushed the tip of her nose against his. Taking her cheeks with both hands, his devilish smile brushed against hers by a fraction, torturing each other for fun.

"That's my line..." he voice hummed as he pulled her in. And there he was living through what could only be a dream instead of the usual nightmares he suffered through most nights; a woman so secure that he was unbelievably besotted and spellbound. Standing into the kiss, June stood on her toes to ease the low bend of his back; the shortness was a problem at times and even though Sirius was actually one of the shortest of the boys, June was SO short. He pulled away a moment, a slight shortness in breath before going back to his new favourite place for a moment longer. Pulling back once more, he paced in front of her, his finger tips from his hand covered over his lips and eyes boring into hers like an interrogation.

Unsure what to make of his pacing, she sat back and watched, her breathing taking a chance to even out. She never let her eyes wonder away from his.

"Talk to me." She finally let out, the silence was long enough for the new school year to start. "Sirius..."
He stopped to his name, never tiring of hearing it from her lips.

"Keep me." His words were pleading, worry dripping off it. She laughed with a small shake of the head.

"You're not a library book I borrowed!" She grabbed his hand and pulled him back to where he was before his pacing, in front of her and with sad eyes "why do you look so afraid..."

"Because I want your answer to be a good one..." he took her palm and pressed it to his lips, his eyes closed and brows frowned. She saw a man standing before her as if he was about to lose everything. She lifted his chin and watched his face relax, the small wrinkles and stubble even out.

"Ive been blessed and surprised with seeing so many sides of you in these last few month, including this side. How many times do I need to confirm that I like you for you..." she had motherly warmth to her voice; a kind tone and it was his favourite; he would hear it often when they all studied and did homework.

"One more time.." he whispered, his face so soft he could be mistaken for an innocent boy for once in his life. She shook her head and let the sweet silent actions do the talking; standing before him, she shimmied off his leather jacket and put it on herself. Her fingers pressed around the cold yet warm leather, getting used to the feeling and letting the smells take her through her memory bank: cocoa and coconut - a product of hair wax he used to keep the bounce in his curled hair and the potent pong of tobacco scatted loosely in the pockets. She grabbed his tie and pulled him down to her eye level.
She pecked his lips once and waited. An instant smug grin grew and he was on her like a rash.

After hours of talking into the night and sweet moments, they separated with great difficulty and made it to their beds.

Together, they laid awake and staring at the roof of their beds, the smiles so large it could fill the whole room. June turned and grabbed one of the random letters Sirius had wrote to her. Now knowing it was him, she read through them all whilst imagining his sweet, tender voice reciting the words. A tear shed a little as she re-read some of the things they spoke of - families, life fears, the wonders of the world. She could just hold him tight and hope to protect him from any further pain life could throw at them.

Sirius too found the stack back on his bedside table, no doubt one of the boys had placed it there. Seeing a body shuffle near the foot of his bed, he saw a tired and half asleep messy haired boy scuffling towards him and sat beside him.

"Morning sleeping beauty" Sirius tried to flatten the boy's hair but it kept springing up

"You made it back alive - I presume Juniper didn't do too much damage?" James felt around his face for his glasses, he must have left them at his bed. Sirius grinned and shook his head in response. "How did it go?"

"It's weird to talk to you about your sister..." Sirius was glad for the darkness; he cheeks would be beetroot colour in the light. James nodded in agreement but waited for an answer. "You're... incredibly lucky to have her as a sister Prongs. I'm not going to be mushy nor go into great detail as I don't want you to vomit on my bedsheets but all I can say is that I'm astonished by her kindness and lucky too..."

"Who made the first move..." his sleepy innocent expression turned into a cheeky and sly smirk, a cackle to follow. No doubt brotherly teasing was to strike June in the morning. The pair chuckled together and spend a little more time in the twilight hours to talk.
