"It was a week before the Christmas break.." Lily started, the girls gathered around her...

Having a continuing suspicion towards her best friend's behaviour and Sirius' too, she locked eyes with Remus during Transfiguration after they both witnessed Sirius grabbing the Potter girl's hand under the table, the two teenagers blushing as they carried on with the lesson.

Sirius was quick to leave with James, the pair needing to catch a smoke break before their next class was due. June, in a flush, made her way to the next class and letting her mind settle. With eyes still locked, the parents of their gathering made a quick dash to a quiet place close by; the empty girls bathroom.

"How long?"

"By my calculations, this hasn't been going on for long but he's not subtle about it. I've never seen Black like this!" Lily grinned, pacing back and forth with a naughty glint in her eye.

"Perhaps he's taking a page out of James' book...." Remus cleared his throat. Lily's red hair whipped around, a face of bewilderment and a touch of annoyance.

"Someone needs to take his book and ram it up his ars—"

"Yes yes yes, we get it Lils. You don't like James... be subtle or at least original for once about hiding your crush. Anyway, do you know what's caused Sirius' neediness?" Resting his head against one of the stalls, Remus folded his arms and let out a small yawn. Just like that, he had slipped over from the loud gasp that escape Lily's lips, echoing around the bathroom. "MERLIN BEARD WOMAN!" he clutched his chest.

With an apologetic frown, she pulled Remus to his feet and caught her breath. "This may seem random and on the off chance BUT do have anything with Sirius' handwriting on?" She eyed up his satchel propped by the cylinder broken sinks.

"Yeah, he gave me some notes on the map project we're still working on, why?" His lanky frame walked over and  bent down, his knees straight as he pulled out a few loose bits of parchment tucked between his potions text books. Taking them from his fingers, Lily's breath hitched, her hunch confirming the theory.

"It's him! Although it looks kind of different....The sneaky git!" Her quiet voice muttered, looking at his scruffy writing over and over again.

"I'm not following?"

"It's June.... her letters" Lily didn't need to say much for Remus to finally catch on.

"That little toss pot... he's finally got his head on right!" Remus bellowed with pride, folding his arms and gently shook his head. A swift smack to the arm with the parchment, Lily glared at him, a confused eyebrow raised.

"He's a smitten little boy sending love letters and holding hands with a girl on the school playground. Textbook muggle crush stuff! You should know this!! Anyway, He's always putting on the big boy pants to put on a front but that boy's got a lot going on in his life. Blimey, he must really like Juniper... James is going to shit a brick however." Remus rubbed his hair about, his smile growing

"What do we do then.... I can't lie to June, she's good at reading my poker face!" Her nail bitting habit kicked in, pacing the floor again and checking her watch for the time.

"We need to play along for now but you need to find out from Juniper if she's going to meet up with her penpal or if maybe... we put them in a situation for her to find out?" Remus had suggested, feeling uneasy by the ideas but like Lily, what could they do now that they knew; hiding the truth from friends felt so wrong. He would know about it....

"Okay, if June doesn't meet up with Sirius before christmas break, we'll figure out a plan when we get back. Deal?" Lily stood still, eyes back on the loose notes now resting on his bag. Packing it all away, together they nodded and made for the door.

"Your secrets safe with meeee!" A voice sang, her blue and shimmery opaque glow shone from the top of the stall. The two students stopped at the sound of her shrill voice, let out small sigh and nodded.

"Thanks Myrtle. I'm trusting you!!" Lily gave her a thumbs up and legged out of the door, dragging Remus along.

The girls eyes filled the room, so wide they looked ready to burst. "... all this time you knew." June was breathless, standing and took a few steps away.

Nodding slowly, and with fearful doubt, Lily bit her nails again "I didn't know if it was right to tell you or let you find out at the pace you wanted. I'm sorry ... I hope you can understand."

June pushed her hair back, her rose cheeks flushed. She nodded and looked back at the girls. "Everything happens for a reason - Had I found out then, I don't think I would have been very rational. We're okay hunny." She took her soul sisters hand and squeezed.

"Hold up bitch - so our bet?! Rigged!" Marlene snorted, arms crossed with a pissed expression.
The girls laughed at Marlene's antics, always amused and amazed by her reactions.

"Girl - the bet was on wether they'd kiss or have sex" A groan escaped June at the sound of it "Nothing was mentioned about June's secret admirer. Hush up!" Lily blew a kiss and jumped slightly at Alice's small gasp

"Oh my goodness that means last night... Lily! Did you and Remus set up that study night for June to find out!?" Eyes snapped to Lily and she shrivelled in.

"Merlins beard, how did Peter pass his OWLS! I know he's good with potions but my god! He needs to do his other papers again." Lily whispered, looking out at the common room as Remus and herself sat at the table to grade up the papers.

"I came up with an idea today... it's about Juniper and Sirius." Remus kept his lips as still as possible and voiced just as hushed. Nodding for him to continue, Lily leaned in slightly. "Has June seen Sirius' handwriting properly before?"

"No idea, Not that I know of?"

"Okay - tell June to take over whilst you go to the toilet. We'll go through the papers together and I'll pass her Sirius'. Come back in 2 minutes. That should be enough time for her to look and see if it jogs her memory. We'll see how it goes from there - yes?"

"Genius Lupin, strikes again!.."

It was a sea of gasps and muttering. "Woman, when did you put on a nappy and call yourself Cupid!" June covered her face, finally understanding it all and laughing hysterically at how ironically funny it all was. The best part was that she wasn't even the slightest bit mad: she was impressed!

"So there you go! FINALLY!" Lily grinned as she passed her bestie her handbag, pushed everyone out of the room and back down to the entrance hall. What a crazy few days!
