Chapter 20- Im not hungry

Jughead POV

"Jughead come on we're going to Alice's for dinner" my dad says.

"I'm not hungry" I say.

"That's a first" jelly bean says and runs to the front door.

"Come on jug you've been sitting on the couch for what...five days. What happened" My dad says.

"Archie told Betty that I liked her." I say.

"Wait you like Betty" Jellybean says.

"Yes I have like her since we were six and I haven't stopped"I say.

"Okay so what's the matter" my dad asks and sits down next to me.

"I got embarrassed. Everyone in Pops now know I like Betty" I say.

"So man up and ask her out" My dad says.

"Why? She and sweet pea are flirting" I say.

"So what you saying is that one of your best friends is crushing on your life long crush" he says.

"Yep pretty much" I say.

"So just talk to her. Maybe first come first serve" my dad says.

"Okay" I say.

"So go get dressed" he says and I walk to my room.

"Hey Betty can I talk to you upstairs" I say.

"Yeah sure" she smiles and we walk up to her room.

"So what do you want to talk about." Betty says and sits on her bed.

"Uhhhh...never mind it's stupid" I say and almost walk out of her room.

"No Jug I wanna know" she says. 

"Okay...Ummm I don't th...do you like Sweet pea?" Inasks.

"Why do you care" she smiles.

"I-I don't ...care just asking" I say.

"Why?" She says.

"Because he's not a good guy for you Betty. He's a player and-"

"Wait you think you can tell me who I can and can't date." She says getting a little mad.

"No it's not that" I say.

"Then what is it. Cause it fucking sounds like it" she says and stands up.

"Betty I'm just looking out for you" I say.

"Jughead you're my best friend okay. Not my dad or brother. I can choose who I want to date. You have no say in that. If I want to date sweet pea. I'll date sweet pea" she says.

"I know I'm an asshole okay I'll leave" I say and walk out of the room.

"Hey Jug what was going on-" before my dad could finish I slammed the door to the Cooper house and head for sweet water river. In the cold winter night without my jacket.

Fp POV

"Fuck. Where could he be Alice" I say.

"I don't know he'll be home soon" She says.

"He left without his jacket in the snow and left his phone here. He could be dead right now. Al it's freezing out there" I say and place my head in my hands.

"It's okay Fp the police are out there looking for him." Alice says.

"Daddy is For with the bad guys who took me and Betty" jellybean says.

"Baby you're supposed to be sleeping" I say and pick her up and sit her on my lap.

"For didn't give me my kiss" she says and lays her head on my chest.

"Is he with the bad guys" she asks.

"No he's not."I say and hold her tight.

"It's my fault" Betty says standing by the door.

"No it's not Betty" Alice says.

"If I didn't over react he would be safe. Maybe if I didn't push him to tell me we wouldn't be here right now" Betty says and let's out a sob.

"Betty it's okay. He just has a hard time expressing his emotions. And when he does he says the wrong thing. Which I don't understand since he's an writer" I say and she nod. Then my phone rings.

"Is it Tom?" Alice asks.

"Yeah"I say and answer the phone.

"Hey Tom" I say.

"We found him." He says.

"What is he okay" I ask.

"Uhh I don't know. He got beat up. He's pale and his lips are purple. If it wasn't for his shivering and him talking I would think he's dead." He says.

"Is he at riverdale general" I ask grabbing my jacket.

"Yeah they just took him to the back" he says.

"Okay I'll be there in a second." I say and hang up.

"Jugs at the hospital can you watch Jelly" I say 

"Yes of course" Alice says and I walk out of the door.
