It's been a about two weeks since that rainy, sickening, day. Ichigo is all better thanks to Rukia and I treating his wounds. Rukia also erased our family's memory of the Hollow. So, for all they know, we had a peaceful time there.
It's around 8pm, and I was sitting at my desk with the business card Kisuke gave me.
"..."
It's late, I should try calling him tomorrow.
"..."
His words still remain in my head.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to talk to you some time."
...Should I call? Why does he want to talk to me? ...More importantly, why did that name come up again? Kazumi? Who's that? That can't be me...right? ...What if he knows about my birth family?
"Emiko?"
I snap out of it and watch as Rukia steps out of my closet.
"Yes?"
"Do you mind if I borrow some of your clothes. I think you sister is catching on about her missing clothes."
"I don't mind. Wear whatever you like."
"Thanks... What's wrong?"
"...Nothing. Why?"
"Oh, it's just...you look like you have a lot on your mind."
"...It's nothing. I was just thinking about how I'm going to repay Nagi." I lie.
"Repay, Nagi?"
"Yeah. For once, she was useful and got me a clue about my birth family. I owe her, but I have no idea what I can do for her. I mean, she's a ghost after all."
"Hmm... That's a tough one... Actually, what about me?"
"..."
Oh right, I knocked Rukia out during Ichigo's fight with Grand Fisher.
"Sorry about that. What can I do for you?"
"Hmm... I don't know. If you don't mind, I would like to think about it."
"I don't mind. Let me know when-"
*Beep* *Beep*
Rukia pulls out her phone and reads it.
"A Hollow. Sorry, Emiko, but I have to get Ichigo and go."
"It's fine. See you later."
Rukia leaves in a hurry, and I go back to staring at the card.

It's currently late afternoon, and I was in town, gathering the ingredients for tonight's dinner. I'm cooking tonight to give Yuzu a break. I'm going to make one of mom's famous meals. I'm sure it's going to make everyone happy.
As I turn my bike onto a side street, I spot two familiar faces, standing in an alleyway.
