Coltons Pov

"Colton!?" I heard the voice of my girlfriend. I knew it before I even had to turn around. She had this high pitched squeaky voice that could literally pierce your ears at times. The only reason I was really still with her was because I felt bad for breaking up with her. I was never one to use girls and I wanted to date to find the right girl for me but I thought Faye had been the one when we first started dating. A couple months went by and I quickly realized that we had nothing in common.

"Colton what are you doing here?" She asks as she glares at Emory on my my back. Shit this isn't going to be good.

"I'm here with family friends." I tell her.

"I asked you to come with me this weekend and you said you were busy." She pouts. Another thing that irritates me.

"And I told you that I was busy. Which I am." I tell her. She puts her hands on her hips and glares at me.

"Who's the hoe that is on your back?" She asked me.

"She isn't a hoe and this is my friend Emory." I told her which just caused her to glare more.

"Let me down Colton." Em whispered in my ear. I did as she said but set her down carefully.

"Whoever she is, SHE needs to stay away from my boyfriend." She spoke with venom in her voice and was right in Emorys face.

"Leave her out of it. We are just friends and have been since we were born." I try to tell her.

"Oh then why haven't I heard of your 'best friend since birth'." She snarled. I looked over to Emory to see her breathing heavy. Her anxiety.

"Faye stop." I tell her but she just keeps going.

"You look like way more than friends. Are you cheating on me?" She said and looked back to me.

Emory did a gasp for air and I knew it was an anxiety attack. I put my arm over her shoulder and lead her over to her parents that were standing a few yards away. Her mom instantly started calming her down while I went back to Faye.

"Really? I accuse you of cheating and then you up and wrap your arm around another girl." She says to me.

"Faye, listen. We have known each other since birth. Our parents are best friends. We've grown up at each other's houses. We live next to each other and share the same yard. I'd never look at another girl that way when I had a girlfriend." I try to tell her.

"Faye we used to be friends before we started dating. We used to be fine with each other. Once we started dating everything has turned into an awkward situation. Should we just go back to being friends?" I ask her in a calm way.

"Seriously? Now is when you want to do this? Right after I just find you here with another girl on your back?" She says.

"It's been needing to be done for a while." I tell her.

"I don't want to." She says stubbornly.

"I think we need to break up." I tell her.

"No." She says again.

"We are done Faye. I hope we can be friends again sometime." I tell her before I walk back to Emory and her parents.

"Are you okay?" I ask Emory. She has tears in her eyes but she nods none the less. I look back up to Blake and Liv. "Are we going back to the cabin or staying?" I ask them.

"Em?" Her dad asks.

"Stay." She says.

"We need to go get seats then. The rodeo is about to start." Blake tells us. As we start walking, I go towards Emory and wrap my arm around her back. She leans on me as she sniffles a little bit.
