"Emory!" My mom called me downstairs. I rolled off my bed, not bothering getting changed, and went downstairs to see what my mom needed. As I jogged down the stairs, I could hear talking. I figured it was just my parents talking so I went into the living room.

I stopped at the doorway as I seen a group of people standing there that I had never seen before. There was a couple that looked to be around my parents age and I was guessing it was their kids with them. There were 4 kids, a boy that looked my age if not older, two girls that looked around 4 or 5 and then a baby that had to be no older than 4 months old.

They all turned their heads to look at me and I gave a shy smile to them. "Wow, you've grown up. The last time I saw you, you was as tall as my knees." The man said to me and I gave a little frown. Who were these people? I didn't remember ever meeting them.

"Em, this is Zach and his family. He went to school with your dad and I." My mom introduced.

"Yep, I was their annoying friend back in high school." He laughed and made my parents laugh too. "This is my wife, Kim, our son Cole, the twins are Sophie and Ellie, and the newest is Bentley." I told them all hi and gave them a small smile. I was really wishing that I had put a shirt on at least before coming downstairs. The look the boy was giving me made me shiver. I only had on some Nike pros and a sport bra.

"They are going to stay the day so why don't you get changed and then we can all go sit outside." My dad suggests and I nod. I jog back up the stairs and into my closet. Even though it was the day before Halloween, it was really warm outside so I changed into an orange tank top and put on some light colored jean shorts. I threw my hair up in a bun and went back downstairs.

I found them all in the backyard. My dad was pulling out all the chairs so that they could sit down. I took a seat by my mom and dad who were sitting on the swing. "So what's been going on in your life since high school? It's been a while." My dad asks his old friend with a chuckle. They haven't seen each other in person in 14 years.

"Well you know I moved to Hawaii right after graduation. I went to college and go a degree to become an electrician. That's how I met Kim. She needed her wiring redone in her house and her looks amazed me. I thought I could get her to eventually be mine, until a ball of tornado came running out of a room and crashed into me. At that point I figured my chance of being with her was over but in the week it took me to finish the house, Cole had wiggled his way into my heart right along with Kim."

"I never thought I'd see the day that you would actually get married." My mom laughs.

"I didn't think he would either." Kim said. "I was leery at first, especially with Cole. I was so scared Cole would get used to him and then he'd leave us. Cole attached himself to Zach and never wanted him to leave. I was just glad that Zach was excepting of him."

"So you had him when you were a teen?" My mom asks and Kim nods.

"I got pregnant with him at 15 during a rebellion stage and had him at 16." Kim says

"I was pregnant with Em at 18 and it was hard. I couldn't imagine it at 15."

"It was a lot of work, especially with a trouble maker like him." She says with a laugh. Cole glared at her and spoke up.

"I was an angel." He says in a deep voice which makes them all laugh.

"So are you guys back for a while or just visiting?" My dad asks.

"For a while. We bought a house, it just needs fixed up a lot." The little girls were throwing a rock back and forth and seemed bored.

"They can go play on the old swing set if they want too. There should be some toys on it." My mom tells them. Mel still used it up until last year so it was in good shape.
