Chapter Forty-Seven: Domestic Violence
I DIDN'T WANT to go to school the next day.
Blake came home dead ass drunk last night and the string of Rosetta's called went on until twelve in the morning and after that, neither calls, nor any texts came. It wasn't weird to think that she'd want to ignore me all day today if I went to school and partially, that was a reason why I didn't want to go too. But even if I did, it wouldn't make anything less harder. Meeting with Rose was inevitable.
Guess she had fun fooling me all this time.
Since Blake was drunk, and I had to take care of him when Noah dropped him off before dad came home, I was exhausted and that was a reason alone too, but most of all- it was because of my best friend.
I knew what I was thinking was wrong. But after I've seen those secretive look she threw at Jayden and me whenever we weren't looking, her odd behavior... It just answered it all.
You might ask why I'm even reacting like that, it was Kate who told do that after all and why I would even trust a drunk guy's speeches. Well, it definitely doesn't even make sense, but everything just lines up perfectly. If Rose was the one who started the rumors and soon it spreaded all over school, it was only natural that no one would be able to hold the string and follow along the end of it to see who was at the peak of it. When Kai, if his words are true, heard Rose talking about it before the rumor even started, then it's natural that she was the one started it. Then the last question was; Who followed us that night?
It's stupid to look out for two people in the middle of the night who were doing illegal jobs. Rose wasn't- couldn't be following us in the middle of the night. If there is anything I know about her, I know that she wouldn't dare to step out of home at night even if it means she'd win a thousand dollar prize after that. I'm sure of it.
Which makes one last thing remaining: Who was it then?
It wasn't Kai. Kai didn't even know about anything, he's as clueless as most people in the school are. Kate framed him to save the other person who actually did it from trouble. It wasn't Rose either. And most probably, she didn't even know until Kate told her to spread the rumor. If that was the case, then as far as I knew Kate- she wouldn't dare to leak our name if we weren't crossing the line.
The who really was it?
I groaned and got up from the bed, holding my head.
Like what I said, I didn't want to go to school. But yet, five minutes later, I found myself standing in front of the very building called school. I don't even know how I'd face Rose today and I needed support from Jayden.
Jayden... probably the only one in my side right in this moment. I couldn't believe anyone right in this moment. Not that i don't want to- but I can't.
I took a breath in in and entered.
Everything is normal. Nothing out of ordinary. The hallways are crowded with kids, buzzing gossips.; No one seemed to be aching their head over the thing anymore. Which will be the prime moment for Kate to strike another info. But with Jayden already knowing it, that didn't sound too convincing.
My head is going to burst.
"Your head is going to burst." Someone tells me.
I nod defeatedly. "You're right. I don't understand a thing."
Jayden slings an arm around my shoulder. "I understand you little one. I'm as bothered as you are. Are you going to tell me now?"
I blinked. "Tell you what?"
