"What do you mean my body isn't fit to live on earth?" I exclaim in panic.
"Well, it's like that story of the boy born on Mars. When he comes to earth the gravity is different, causing him to slowly die," Cisco explains. I look at him in horror.
"Not that you are going to die!" Caitlin quickly reassures me, causing me to relax a fraction.
"This is only our theory of course," Barry adds. I nod absentmindedly. I look at them in question.
"Do you think it had something to do with me living in the speed force?" I ask them. Caitlin nods thoughtfully.
"Possibly, I would like to run a few more tests though. If that's OK with you?" she asks me.
" Sure," I reply. She runs off to go get some machines ready, Cisco leaving with her.
"So... What's the fastest you have ever ran?" Barry asks me, breaking the silence. I shrug.
"I didn't exactly have a way to measure my speed back home, in the speed force, but my record was running around the 100 meter in diameter clearing about 25 times in 1.33 seconds," I tell him. He lets out a long whistle.
"Are you sure?" he asks me. I nod in reply.
"That's like 0.33 seconds faster than me!" he exclaims.
"You should definitely run some laps in the speed lab," Barry says, getting all excited to test out my speed.
"That sounds fun," I agree, "but what exactly is a speed lab?"

Twenty minutes later and I am running laps in the speed lab. I let out an excited whoop as I feel the wind whipping my face and the electricity coursing through my veins. How I have missed the ability to run over the past few days. I feel like I could run forever. "OK Lexi, that's enough for today," Barry says on the ear piece he gave me. I slow down and run down the ramp to where the others are standing.
"That was awesome," Barry says, giving me a high five.
"How fast was I going?" I ask Cisco who was in charge of monitoring my speed.
"Just over mach 7," Cisco exclaims. Barry's eyes widen.
"Mach 7! That's nearly faster than me!" Barry exclaims, more in excitement than jealousy.
"Only by a tiny bit. You ran about 0.12 seconds faster than her last time we tested you," Cisco tells him.
"Can I run some more laps...please?"I plead with Cisco and Barry.
" Fine, but only a few more, "Barry says, giving in. I squeal in excitement and run over to the ramp when I hear a gunshot fire. Still using my speed, I turn around as everything goes frozen around me to see Joe standing by the doorway, a gun pointed at me in his hands. I see 3 bullets frozen in mid air. Had I not been a speedster, those bullets would have just killed me. Still using my speed, I walk up to the bullets which are all frozen less than 15 centimeters away from the barrel of the gun and grab them, one at a time, putting them in my palm. I walk back to where I was standing before, putting some space between Joe and I and then stop using my speed. Everything starts to move again around me. Barry speeds over to where the bullets should be shooting through the air but is left empty handed.
"where did they...?" he starts but his question is answered as I drop the three bullets from my palm onto the ground.
"To slow, Barry," I taunt him.
"Why isn't she in her cell? Or at least wearing some metahuman cuffs?" Joe asks, clearly confused. He must have not gotten the memo that the team decided I wasn't their prisoner anymore.
"It's a long story but to summarise it all up for you, she's on our team now," Cisco quickly tells him. Caitlin choses this moment to come rushing into the room.
"I heard gunshots coming from here," she cries out.
"It's fine, I caught them before they could hit me," I tell her, pointing to the bullets lying on the ground. Joe puts his gun back in its holster by his belt and walks up to Barry.
"How are we supposed to trust her?" he asks Barry as if I'm not standing right here.
"She lived in the speed force for 6 years, she has been having severe seizures almost everyday, she nearly died because of one this morning, and she has done nothing to pose herself as a threat. Why would we keep her locked up in the pipeline if she has done nothing wrong?" Barry explains everything to Joe except for the part of my cells not being human anymore and my body not being fit to live on earth. Joe still looks unsure but before he can say anything Caitlin clears her throat.
" Lexi, should we go run those tests now?" she asks me. I nod and she leads me down the hallway and past the cortex, into a room full with all sorts of medical looking machines.
"I think I'll do an MRI scan first, OK? She asks me and I nod my head. She leads me over to one of the larger machines and instructs me to lie down on the patient table.
"I just need you to lie down absolutely still for a few minutes and then it's done," She tells me. I walk over to the machine and lie down on the patient table she instructed me to lie down on. The table slides into the machine and I lie still as a whirring noise fills my ears.
