Jimin tapped his fingers nervously on the table as he waited for the professor to walk in. Currently, he was in a room meant for some other course, along with a few other students. Jimin recognize a few from his other classes and had no idea who the rest were.
A few moments later, the door opened and the professor walked in. He was carrying a writing pad in his hand which he placed on the table before looking up at the students.
"Some of you have classes after a few minutes," The professor started, "And I do too, so I'm going to make this quick and simple. If you don't understand, talk to others or come up to me later on, but no questions now."
The students lethargically mumbled something to let the professor know that he aknowledged his words.
"Alright, you are a called here because the Head Chancellor has selected you to go the student research conference." said the professor. Jimin being a little surprise becase of it. "But that doesn't mean it's compulsory. Anyways, the Chancellor had already considered a category for you. Of course, you are at the freedom to change the category, but remember, it was decided after a lot of thoughts. And because, it might be the best for you."
He then mumbled something under his breath before picking up his writing pad, "There are two categories in this list and you all have already been sorted. But like I said before, you can change it if you want. Along with your categories, you are also given a topic that might give you more chance at making an impression on the judges. I'll call out your name, you will come over here, take the topic, study about it and then tell me whether or not you want to continue about it. I need the final decision by the end of this week, or else it will be considered that you will be going with the topic given to you."
Jimin nibbled on his lips as the professor yawned before proceeding to call out the names. The raven head waited until his name was call. And it seemed to be at the very end of the list, because the number of students had already decreased to half. Most of them agreed to take part while some declined the offer.
Then the door opened and Jimin grimaced. It was Min Yoongi. Jimin didn't bother to resist his urge to roll his eyes and of course, the computer science student spotted him as well. Scowling at him. If the professor wasn't present, Jimin would've straight out cursed him out.
"Ah Yoongi, wait here for a while." The professor mumbled and resumed on calling out the names. Jimin bit the inside of his cheek when he realized he was the only student left in the room. He stood up and walked towards the professor knowning that there was no need to be called.
"Jimin," The professor started, "The Chancellor was unsure if to put you in a group project or a solo project. But, my personal opinion is a group project."
"But I'll be fine on my own." Jimin mumbled, glaring at Yoongi who rolled his eyes.
"I know," The professor sighed, looking between Yoongi and Jimin with a confused gaze, "But here's the thing, considering your expertise in biosynthesic field, I think it's better if you work in a group. That way, you'll gain some experience in actual research work where you'll either have to work in a team or lead a team."
"Okay..." Jimin murmured. He didn't really have anything against working in the group project. He didn't care as long as he got to take part.
"So, you'll be working with Min Yoongi."
"Okay- Wait-what?"Jimin asked, throughly confused. Why was he supposed to work with Min Yoongi? It wasn't because he hated the other. Well, that was a reason. But mostly he comfused because their fields were completely opposite to each other. A Biochem student with an Computer science student.
