The two returned pretty late that day during the conference. Having stayed for all the three halves. Yoongi didn't want to, things were getting repeative for him. The speeches weren't as interesting. Jimin, however, seemed pretty excited that was until the last part of the third half. Yoongi wasn't sure what happened. It was fine before that. They were back to bickering. In a friendly manner. Hell, Yoongi could go as far as saying, he would like to continue with that. Their truce. But then, something went wrong. Jimin got up to take a call, and when he came back. Yoongi just knew something was wrong. His face ashen, and eyes wide. Jimin stayed completely quiet for the rest of the conference. And before they left, he excused himself for a while. Yoongi didn't want to admit, but after the first five minutes, he was starting to grow worried about where the other went. Then, after another five minutes, Jimin showed up again. He still looked distressed, but better than before.
And as of now, past midnight, both of them stayed awake, staring at the ceiling. Yoongi tried sleeping. He even succeed in doing so, but woke up a because of a nightmare. He knew Jimin was awake. He could see the soft glow of Jimin's phone each time there was a notification and Jimin would turn to check it.
And he knew Jimin was aware that he was awake as well. But neither made an effort to talk. Yoongi wanted to, the silence was too loud.
"Jimin?" He called, tiredly.
"Hmm?" Came the reply, sounding equally exhausted if not more.
"Why do you hate me?" Yoongi asked. Pushing away the blanket because it was getting a little to stuffy for him.
"I never liked the way you treated your friends." Jimin replied, "You barely paid attention when Hoseok hyung would talk to you. Same for Namjoon hyung. No matter how excited they were, you never showed the same enthusiasm. I mean, yeah, not all the times the topic might interest you, but at least you could pay attention to them. As a friend, at least. I don't understand how you can treat them like, when you're lucky enough to have them by your side."
Yoongi chuckled mockingly, narrowing his eyes, "And you assumed all this from what?"
"I've seen you with you a lot of times."
"And what makes you think I don't care about them?"
Yoongi raised his eyebrow, even though he knew Jimin wouldn't see it in the dark. There was no reply fore a while and Yoongi got the answer he needed.
"I maybe a little blunt with my words, Jimin. I care about Namjoon and Hoseok more than anything. They've been my friends for more than 10 years." Yoongi mumbled. His body aching from the exhaustion. But he didn't feel like sleeping any time soon. "They know that even if I look I'm not interest, I am." Yoongi continued, "I just... find it hard to let it show, that's all."
"Oh..."
Again Jimin's phone buzzed softly, lighting up for a few seconds before going dark once again.
"Are you waiting for some important message?" Yoongi asked.
He heard a little shuffing of cloth, and could barely make out Jimin moving on his bed. Before falling still once again.
"Taehyung called, there... were some problems with my apar-apartment." Yoongi frowned when he heard the way Jimin struggled to say apartment. Sounding choked, even. "He called to let it me know about it. I was just waiting for any other messages related to it."
Yoongi hummed, before it felt quiet once again.
"You said you find it easier to deal with machines than humans, what do you mean by that?" Jimin spoke up, "Exactly."
