*Liams POV*

"Liam, I swear to god if you don't eat right now I will get Lily to get a tube to feed you through." Alex threatened, thrusting the slice of pizza in my face. Alex, Laura, Louis and Zayn had brought back at least 5 pizza boxes and they wouldn't seem to rest until I had at least eaten one slice.

"I don't think I'm allowed to do that, but you should eat anyways Liam." Lily laughed from the corner, I smiled thinly at her. I learned that she had her day off and was coming to visit Gabby which was nice. Gabby is going to like her.

My attention turned to the problem at hand as the smell of pizza wafted back into my nose, it was almost sickening.

I glumly took the piece of pizza to Alex's satisfaction. I nibbled on the edge, just barely recognizing that it was meat lovers; Gabby's favourite.

A sigh released from my lips, I could link anything to Gabby which just made me feel worse. I shouldn't have been late; I should've insisted I stayed with her.

I was eating my pizza with one hand, the other clasping onto Gabby’s hand and squeezing tightly when suddenly, out of the blue, she squeezed back. I jumped up with shock, dropping my pizza onto the box Alex had left in my lap.

"Whoa, Liam, are you alright?" Harry asked and I nodded feverishly.

"She squeezed me hand!" I almost shouted and everyone jumped up, Lily rushing to my side. She checked the computer screens and opened Gabby’s eyes with her fingers, flashing a torch into it.

Lily shook her head sadly and I felt my heart sinking.

"It was just a muscle spasm, she isn't awake." She told me, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it off and let go of Gabby’s hand, running out of the room quickly and grabbing the black journal as I went.

My hopes had risen to an all time high only to be pummelled into the ground and pounded repeatedly.

I felt tears running hotly down my cheeks but I didn't care, I just kept running. I didn't care where I was going; I didn't care about anything except for the fragile girl lying in that hospital bed.

*Louis’ POV*

 I couldn't help but pity the poor lad. I could see the hope in his eyes when he had jumped up, it literally shone from him. But just as quickly as it had come it faded.
