BENNY
"Let's call it a day!" I said taking off my cap, making my way to the dug out.
"Benny can you throw me a coke?" Smalls put his hand out waiting for me to give him the drink.
"Here." I threw it to him trying not to drop it.
Smalls thanked me and started chugging down his drink.
"Hey, my brother is having a party at my place and this band is going to preform." Bertram told me and Kenny.
"Ok? Do you want us to go?" I ask sarcastically.
"Is it like a famous band?" Kenny got excited thinking he was going to see The Beatles or something.
"Well, they aren't famous, but they are sick, dude. Can you guys come please so I won't be stuck with my brothers friends." Bertram said in a convincing tone.
I rolled my eyes, sighing deeply in irritation, "Fine. What time." I wasn't a big fan of party's but I'll give it a try.
"At 5." Bertram responded while he was looking for a clock. Me and Kenny looked at each other trying to figure out if we should go or not.
"Ok, we'll be there." Kenny turned back to Bertram, nodding along with his response.

AMELIA
"Ok guys are we ready?" I ask, checking in on my band mates. I'm the singer and I play the electric guitar. The party is starting in an hour. At this point my anxiety is kicking in and I start over thinking. It happens a lot but at the end of the day everything is fine.
"We should practice the songs." Elijah , the lead of the band and the drummer, said.
Agreeing with him, I respond, "Yeah, just in case." I got in front of the mic holding my guitar and waited for the drummer to start.
"One, two, three...go." Elijah started playing his drums and I got ready to sing.

BENNY
Knock! Knock!
I knew it was Bertram and Kenny so I put my shoes on and went to the front door.
"Are you ready?" Kenny asks, looking through the door.
"Duh! What does it look like." I said with a annoyed tone.
"Well come on now." Bertram made his way to the sidewalk and I followed behind him.
Entering Bertram's house he made his way to the front of the crowd to get a better view of the band. Me and Kenny followed him. The singer caught my eye. She had long dark wavy hair with bangs, pale skin, and blue eyes. Her singing was just amazing.
"Woah..." I thought to myself.
She caught me staring at her so she stared back. Her lips started curling at the corners, forming a smile. The staring went on until I looked away to avoid awkwardness.
When the song ended Bertram made me and Kenny sit down to eat with him.
"Dang, man. You're fat." Kenny said as he watched Bertram stuff his mouth with food. I tried not to laugh.
"Shut up." Bertram gave Kenny a dirty look and rolled his eyes.
The smell of vanilla filled up the atmosphere. I turned to look at what it was. I saw a body standing next to me. I looked up and there she was. The new girl.
"Hey, Bertram." She went and gave him a hug. It was obvious that she ignored my presence.
"Oh, Amelia. Wassup." He hugged back in shock. She still hasn't noticed me.
"How's it been?" Her voice is so calming and soft.
When she sings it's totally the opposite, not that it sounds bad, her singing voice is just so impressive.
"Good, good. Are you hungry? There's drinks and snacks in the kitchen." Bertram seemed to know her, but how? I've never seen her at school or in the neighborhood.
"Oh no, I'm fine I ate earlier." She said patting her stomach. I was waiting for Bertram to introduce us to her until this girl called out her name.
"I gotta go. See ya." She saw me,waved and left.
"Alright, bye." Bertram waved back and sat down.
"A wave? That's all I get? Why am I getting butt hurt I don't even know her." I said in my mind.
She never failed to surprise me when she was singing, and the way she played the guitar... it was so attractive.
I tried so hard not to fall for her. I don't even know her, I kept reminding myself. She's the type of girl that you see at a vacation and for some reason she catches your attention that you can't forget about her.
Then, you get sad cause you'll never see her again. But in this case there is a 50% chance that I will see her again sometime.
