Bristle's POV

Twisting and turning, Bristle's bed sheets and blankets were getting twisted as she flopped around.

"Bristle!" The loud voice rang in the house. Bristle sat up sweating and her heart pounding, trying to get a grip of what just happened another loud voice rang. "Bristle get up! You're going to be late!"

Bristle finally understanding where she was, she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and stretched her arms. Flipping the blanket off of her legs, carefully sliding out of bed, she stood there quietly looking in the mirror. Her pink hair was a hot mess, her white tank top somehow got crooked during her sleep. Glancing along the room she spotted her new uniform, she made her way over to the dresser and snatched the outfit. Slipping off her tank top and replaced her it with her uniform. She noted that she was apart of the plant track, not like much changed she was only taught plant magic during home school.

"Bristle!" Bristle jumped, her gaze shot over to her door, there her mother stood narrow eyes. "Now you promised us you wouldn't cause any trouble if we sent you to school!" She hissed.

"Y-yes ma'am!" Bristle stammered, she stumbled over to her desk grabbing her brush and putting her hair up in a messy ponytail. Rushing out the door she froze. "Damn it!" She slapped her forehead realizing she had forgotten her bag. Dashing back in she grabbed her bag, her ears flattened against her head seeing her father sitting at the table eyes narrowed.

"Forgot something?" His monotone voice made it hard for Bristle to make out his emotions at that moment.

"I didn't mean to, I was-"

"Just go before your mother finds out." He sighed turning his attention back to his book.

"Yes sir.." She muttered, sliding over to the door she quietly shut the door. She stood still for a minute then leaned against the door and let out a long sigh. She blinked her soft green eyes. Freezing she realized, "I'M GOING TO BE LATE!"

Bristle stared at the wide halls, chattered filled the halls. Fear struck her, she knew no one here, and she never really talk anyone besides from family.

What do I say! Should i say hi, or-

She pankined her ears pinned. She watched the students chatter, the arrays of colors on the students' uniforms. Her gaze swiped from side to side, heart beating.

"Uh hello?"

Fear struck her heart, she whipped her head to face a darker skin girl with silver hair and icy blue eyes. Bristle blinked at the silver haired witch noting that the witchling had some animal like ears and tail. She opened her mouth to say something but her mouth was dry and a lump formed in her throat, she couldn't get a word out.

"Oh there you are, I was afraid you weren't actually here." The silver hair witch let out a dry chuckle before pinning her ears to her head and rubbing the back of her neck, "Forget i said that." The witch's ears perked back up and blinking, she held out her hand and an awkward smile appeared on the witch's face, "I'm Hope, Hope Brisk. You must be new right."

Bristle blinked her green eyes a few times and nodded. There was an awkward silence between the two. Trying to find the right words, she inhaled then exhaled quickly. "Im Bristle," was all she managed to get out, she glanced down at Hope's hand and shakily reached her hand out and locked hands with Hope. The fear eased from her as she shook hands with Hope.

"That's a beautiful name! Just like you," She winked.

Bristle gave the silver haired witch a awkward smile. "Thanks." Pulling her hand away she stared down at her hand. It felt warm. It was a nice feeling. She looked back at Hope. "So um- What track are you apart of?"

Hope smiled, "Im part of-" The witch pause and held out her hand counting silently to herself. "Plant track, Bard track, Healing track, and abomination track." She hummed pointing to each color on her uniform, pointing out which track was which.

"Whoa! You're in four tracks!" Bristle watched Hope in awe.

She nodded and jabbed her thumb back at a witch with round ears and many colors on her uniform, "That's Luz. Thanks to her you can choose multiple tracks if you can prove yourself."

Bristle nodded, "That's so cool! I didn't get to pick my track, my parents did. I was homeschooled since i was little."

"Really why's that?"

"They're kinda protective, it took a lot of time and effort to convince them to let me go to school." She said rubbing the back of her neck. She lost her grip on her books and bag. Her school supplies crashed against the ground. "Damnit.."

"Here let me help you out." Hope leaned down and picked up the bag and handed it to Bristle. Hope then grabbed the books and stood up..

Bristle reached out for her books but Hope pulled them away, "I can get my books." Bristle whispered nervously.

"I got it." The blue eye witched eyed Bristle's schedule. "Come on we have two of the same classes together in about twenty minutes. I can show you around in the mean time."

Bristle froze for a hot second trying to comprehend what just happened, snapping out of her trance, she nodded, "That would be nice."
