Henry's POV

"So what is our plan?" His gaze flickered between Hope and Renae.

Hope shrugged, Henry could see the bags under his sister's and Renae's eyes. He knew his sister was having trouble sleeping but Renae... Renae looked as if she had died.

"I don't know. We can clear Blitz off the list because she's been in emperor's coven custody, witch guards stationed at her cell 24/7" Renae muttered

"We have no leads.. Honestly we should let the emperor's coven handle it." Lucky sighed. Henry turned to his boyfriend. Bags were also under his eyes.

Renae and Hope shot Lucky a glare, "That's not happening." Hope snapped.

Renae crossed her arms, "That's one thing we can agree on."

Henry felt a pang of sympathy for all of them. They all were lacking on sleep. He turned to his boyfriend. "Did you get any sleep?" He then glanced around at the others. "Did any of you?"

Hope shook her head, "Barley." Lucky nodded not saying anything.

"None.. I was up all night...." Renae said as she leaned against the dresser. "Holly and Sean down stairs talking didn't exactly help."

"What about you Henry?"

Henry shrugged, "Some. Not a whole lot though."

There was a long silence. No one moved and no one spoke. Henry looked at Hope and then to Renae. The two were silence.

"So what were Holly and Sean talking about?" Henry asked trying to change the subject.

Renae scoffed, "I say talking... They were arguing." She paused then added quickly, "But I see where they're coming from. They lost their daughter.... And who knows they might lose their second one if anything else goes wrong..."

"What do you mean by that?" Lucky asked.

Renae shrugged, "No idea. I was just talking to talk." She let out a dry chuckle.

The silence came over them again. No movement, no sound, no nothing. Henry bit the inside of his cheek, this silence was killing him. "Is there any reason Bristle or Rosie might have been taken?" He blurted out.

Renae and Lucky shook their heads. He turned to his sister, who crossed her arms and closed her eyes, "I can't think of any reason for Bristle... Rosie on the other hand..."

Renae's yellow eyes landed on the older Brisk sibling. "What's that suppose to mean!" she snapped.

"It has nothing to do with her as a person... But rather her family. They're rich, maybe a ransom..." The blue eyed cattie pointed out.

"That would make since." Henry murmured.

Henry could see the hurt in Renae's eyes. She dropped her gaze and sighed. "As much as I hate it... That might be the case."

Henry only replied with a half nod. He looked to Lucky, who had a thoughtful look on his face. "Isn't it odd how the people who were taken are close to Renae?" Lucky's blue gaze flickered from person to person. "I'm not pointing fingers. But Rosie and Bristle were the only people close to Renae who were alone. Because you three were together while they went off to check something out, and I was at home."

Henry stared at the beastkeeper, "I never thought of it like that..."

Renae shuddered, but it was Hope who spoke, "But I don't know anyone who hates Renae." Her icy gaze landed on Renae. "Is there anyone?"

The healer shrugged, "Not that I'm aware of. The only person I've ever really had a fight with was..." The healer clutched her fist as if not wanting to say it.

"Was?" Henry asked quietly.

"Was Hope and Rosie..." she then looked up at them and added quickly: "Of course that was when we first met."

Henry fell back on his bed and groaned, "There goes our only lead."

"Well, not exactly." Lucky mumbled, "Renae said she wasn't aware of anyone who hated her... Doesn't mean there isn't someone who hates her." Lucky added.

"Gee.. Thanks for the boost of confidence." Renae snorted with heavy sarcasm, but Lucky ignored her sarcasm.

"So we have a lead." Hope asked glancing over the group.

"I think so." Henry murmured. "Though I don't think it's a very big one."

Lucky shrugged, "Better than nothing."

Henry nodded. "Well. Renae shouldn't you be getting home?"

Renae nodded. "Yeah.. I promised mom and da-" she stopped herself before clearing her throat, "Holly and Sean, I would be home before sundown." The healer spun on her heel and made her way to the door.

"Hey Renae.." Henry was caught of guard by his sister.

The brown haired witch looked back. "Yeah?"

Hope dropped her gaze. "Sorry about what I said in town... I shouldn't have provoked you..."

Henry bit his tongue gingerly. Please forgive her! Fighting won't help find Bristle and Rosie.

Renae sat still for a moment. She looked up. "And I'm sorry for starting the fight... I was just..."

"Ticked off?"

Renae shook her head, "Worst..." she looked up, a weak smile at crept on her face, "It's good to know I have people I can trust." Before anymore words were exchanged, Renae walked off.

Hope looked at Henry and Lucky, "I'm going to bed.. I need to try to get some sleep.. you two should too." His older sister stepped out, shutting the door behind her.

Henry pulled his blanket back and crawled into bed, Lucky following. He moved his finger in a circular motion, a dim yellow following. The lights shut off, Henry and Lucky settled in. Henry scooted closer, nuzzling Lucky's neck and placing his hand on Lucky's side. Chills ran down his spin as Lucky placed his hand on Henry's side, just above his hips.

There was a comfortable silence between the two. Lucky kissed the top on his head, before resting his chin on his head. The only movement was from Hope's room, which Henry could only guess was Hope twisting and turning.

Henry sigh wavered, "I'm worried..." he finally said breaking the silence.

"About what?" He could feel Lucky gingerly stroking his back sending chills down and up his spine.

"Bristle... Rosie...." Henry paused, "Hope and Renae... Hope seems content.. but I know she's not. You can hear it in her voice if you listen close enough.. Then Renae... Oh titan Renae... she." He paused trying to find the right words. "It's like her trust in Hope is..."

"Holding on by a thread?" Lucky finished the sentence.

"Yeah.. Exactly." Henry whimpered nuzzling closer. "I'm glad it wasn't you who was taken... I mean.. It's still it was Bristle and Rosie... But.."

Lucky kissed his forehead. "I know what you mean... I feel the same.. but now we should get some sleep.. It'll help us feel better, hopefully Renae and Hope get some sleep so they won't be so cranky." Lucky said, amusement lingered in his voice.

Henry bit back his laughter, instead nodding. "You're right..." he mumbled, he shut his eyes. Though he wasn't fully asleep, Lucky's heartbeat lolled him closer and closer to sleep....
