Bristle's POV
Bristle stared at her wall. Trying to figure out the best way to hang her photos up. No that won't work.... Not that one eit- Her door slammed open making Bristle jumped. She turned to the door there Renae stood.
"Hey Renae. What's up?" Bristle stood up, crossing her arms.
Renae shut the door and walked over laying her head on Bristle's shoulder. "Hey what's wrong?"
"Bristle I need to talk...." Bristle back up and sat on her bed patting a spot beside her. Renae sat down.
Bristle then noticed Renae's hair, "You got your hair cut!"
"Yea I did, but that's beside the point!" Renae snapped, not aggressively, but rather worrying. "I'm now apart of an an arranged marriage!"
"WHAT!" Bristle stared at the brown haired witch. "WITH WHO!"
"My friend Rosie. She was in an arranged marriage and her mom told me I had two options. Either never talk to Rosie again and or join the emperor's coven and marry Rosie. Well I didn't want to never talk to Rosie again, and I really like Rosie and-"
"You agreed to marry her without her permission!" Bristle snapped.
"No! Of course not! I asked. She told me being with me is better than anything she could think of." Renae defended herself.
"So you're dating?"
"No, but before you freak out.. That's what I came to you for. We both agreed to get to know eachother more and go on a few dates to see what works for us...." the yellow eyed witch closed her eyes. "And I wanted to ask for some advice. I have never had a girlfriend. Or any romantic relationship until Henry, but that was short lived. And I actually really, really like Rosie, and I need things to work out because sometime later in the future we will be married..."
Bristle blinked at her, "Well. Uh." She looked at her feet. "This is kinda hard to explain without my own girlfriend..." she tapped her chin. "Try to show her your not scared for the future? I don't know. Hope was the one who had a huge crush on me before I had any feelings. You should probably talk to her about this. And I'm not the best with advise."
Renae dropped her gaze. "I wasn't planning on telling her.. at least. Not until me and Rosie actually started dating."
"Well unless you want to ask Henry or Lucky, Hope is you're best option."
"Ugh. Speaking of Henry. Me and Rosie were inches away from a kiss and he interrupts!" Renae ranted.
"Don't I know that feeling. I had a dream on the first night I stayed with Hope and just when I was about to tell her that I was kissing her in my dream... Henry barged in." Bristle chuckled.
"Does she know that it was her you were kissing." Renae's eyes flickered with curiosity.
"Pft- No. She's don't forgotten about that day." Bristle sighed, "Best thing you can do is like you said, take it easy, get to know eachother and see how it works." She shrugged. "I mean. Maybe invite her to dinner tonight."
"You won't mention the marriage to Holly and Sean will you?"
Bristle paused, "No. I won't say anything."
"Thanks Bris..."
"So what made you want to tell me?" Bristle asked.
"Because I trust you. You and Henry are the only ones who know." Renae shrugged, "I mean. I trust Lucky and Hope.. But... I don't know. Just something is keeping me from telling them."
"Understandable... Well. I'm going to go help mom make dinner. I'll ask her if you can invite someone over for dinner." Bristle said heading for her door. She made her way down the stairs and could see her mom cooking. "Hey mom, Renae wants to know if she can't bring a friend over."
"....Sure."
Something didn't feel right. "Mom you okay?"
Her mother turned around and showed her scroll.
The Aarons family has called off the engagement between Ethan Kort and Rosalina Aarons. Who or what is the reason.
Bristle stared at the headline of Penstagram. "Huh... That's odd." She tried to hide her nervousness.
"Don't lie to me Bristle, you know something about this don't you..."
Bristle looked at her feet. "I- it would be better if Renae told you..." she shut her eyes tightly as her mother called for Renae.
"Renae do you know anything about the engagement of Rosalina." Her mother snapped.
"No. I don't."
"Renae, tell me the truth."
"I don't know!" Renae snapped, "Do you not understand words!"
"You're grounded. Hand me the scroll."
"WHY DOES IT MATTER! YOURE NOT EVEN MY REAL PARENTS! MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!" Renae snapped. Bristle looked up and watched Renae run up the stairs. The door slammed.
Bristle stood there feeling out of place. Her mother sighed and leaned against the counter, "No matter what I do I can't get to that girl."
Bristle turned back to her mother, "Mom you have to remember that she's lost her parents and grandfather. And she was disowned by her other grandparents. Maybe she just feels as if you're trying to replace. You have to give her time."
"How is my daughter being a wiser person then me." Her mother chuckled. "Wait. Why did her grandparents disown her?"
"Because she Pansexual..."
Bristle's mother looked at the stairs, "Honey I'll be back. You keep cooking." Bristle watched as her mother hurried up the stairs... she turned to the food and snatched a apron...
