Bristle's POV

Bristle carefully opened her door and slipped out. Tiptoeing down the stairs she made sure to skip the squeaky steps and made it to the bottom. She looked around and didn't see anyone. She made her way to the door and opened it. She slipped out and carefully shut the door. She let out a sigh, "I think I'm good."

Bristle pulled out her scroll and typed down, "Okay I'm out the house and on the way."

Her scroll buzzer with a text response. "How about we meet half way? To make sure you don't get lost?"

Bristle smiled, "Alright then." She sent her scroll away and walked through the woods following the path Hope told her. It was quiet and peaceful. She could see a figure in the distance. "Hope!"

The figure turned and waved. Bristle started running but the closer she got... The more she realized... Thats not Hope. Bristle stopped in her tracks. She backed up and began drawing a circle, but then she was paralyzed with fear, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't complete the circle!

The figure began walking over, Bristle could see the figure golden eyes and silver hair that was in a short low ponytail. Bristle felt a surge of energy and completed the circle and sent a fireball raging at the person.

"WHAT THE HELL!" Bristle narrowed her eyes to see the same animal ears Hope had.

"Hedrick?" Bristle whispered?

The silver haired witch popped up and snarled, "Henry! My name is Henry- NOW WHY THE HELL DID YOU SHOOT A FIRE BALL AT ME!"

"I-I'm sorry! You scared me!" Bristle stammered feeling ashamed. "Where's Hope?"
Henry shrugged, "She's back at our house cleaning, she sent me to help."

Bristle nodded. The two walked along the path that supposedly led to Henry's and Hope's home.

"So why'd did you wanna hang out so late?" Bristle glanced up at Henry who had his hand stuffed in the pocket of his jeans.

"It's the only time i could sneak out and not be caught." She explained, She clouds push past how awkward this encounter was.

"That makes since, are you parents over protective or something?"

Bristle nodded, "They are, it took a lot of time and effort to convince them to let me go to school."

"So Hope is your first real friend?" Henry was now looking down. Bristle caught a flash of sympathy in the witch's golden eyes.

"Yeah, I just hope i don't scare her off.." Bristle looked down at her feet as they walked.

"Hope is an..... interesting character. Though she usually doesn't trust easily. She's really let up to you. I haven't seen her more excited about hanging out with a friend since Blitz." Henry patted Bristle's back, nodding.

Bristle ears perked at a name, "Who's Blitz?'

"Hope's childhood friend. They were close. That is until some girls favored Blitz over Hope causing them to stop being friends." He shrugged, "I think they were about.... 10 i wanna say? Maybe younger."

"That was only five years ago..." Bristle said glancing up at the moon.

"Hope isn't good with her emotions. So she doesn't talk about them often." Henry sighed pushing his bangs out of his face.
"Why did they favor Blitz." Bristle turned her attention back to the darker skinned witch.

Henry was silent... "Because Blitz was from this realm," he said bleakly. "They didn't believe Hope was a true witch, they twisted Blitz. This cause Hope to close off her emotions...." There was a horrible silence between the two, until Henry spoke again, "And its holding her back... A cattie uses their emotions as their magical source, Stronger the emotion-"

"Stronger the spell... " Bristle's gaze dropped and her shoulders sagged, "Hope told me about that."

Henry nodded his golden eyes dark. "I swear if i ever see Blitz again!" His growl was low and aggressive. Goosebumps formed along Bristle's back.

Soon another silence fell and neither witches broke it. Soon enough a house became visible. "Behind the house are some vines that should help you climb up to Hope's window."

Henry started towards the door and turned the knob. "Hey Henry- Thanks for telling me more about Hope." Henry looked back and nodded before entering the house.

Bristle sighed and made her way around back and saw vines leading up to a window. She walked over and lumbered up the vines she poked her head in the window and saw light spells drifting around. She watched the lights drift around before she started to loose her footing. She started to fall backward her eyes widen. She felt hands grip her shoulders. Bristle looked up to see a silver hair witch.

"You okay?"

Bristle nodded, "Im fine." Hope began to tug Bristle in. Once Bristle was in she smiled and hugged Hope. "This is going to be great! What are we doing first!"

"Well I was thinking about some reading. But if not that's fine we can do whatever" Hope shrugged.

Bristle nodded and though for a moment. "Oh! There's a new song that I heard and I wanted to show you!" Bristle reached in her bag and pulled a radio out. "We should probably go outside though."

Hope nodded and walked to the window and climbed down. Bristle followed behind closely. The vine broke beneath her and fear bubbled as she fell. Bracing to hit the ground she shut her eyes tightly. She was caught off guard felt something catch her. She open her eyes and saw worry flickering in her icy blue eyes.

"You okay?" There was concern in her voice.

"Oh thank you my brave knight! Shall i give you a kiss-" Bristle joked pretending to be dazed.

Bristle looked up at Hope, her face a bright shade of red, "Well I- I- You can- I mean-" Hope's ears flattened. "Here," She quickly set Bristle down.

Bristle smiled, she reached up and kissed Hope's cheek, "There a kiss fit for a Knight."

Hope placed her hand on her cheek, her throat rumbling.

Bristle's eyes lit up. "OH MY GOSH YOUR PURRING!" Bristle smiled, "Willow's right! It's so cute!"

"IM NOT CUTE!" Hope snapped, her face a hot pink.

Bristle noticed how flustered the cattie was. She's acting like you would around a- she paused eyes widen. Like you would around a crush! Bristle cleared her throat. "Well shall we listen to the song?"

Hope's blush toned down. "Yeah."

Bristle took the radio and pressed play.

-

After hanging out outside for a while both Bristle and Hope came inside and decided to read.

Bristle blinked slowly and her head dropped a bit. She lifted her head and yawned. She snuggled against Hope. She could feel Hope's purring and even a fluffy tail wrap around her waist.

"This is nice-" Bristle mumbled. "I'm glad we're such good friends." Bristle felt Hope stiffen, but then relax. It hurt to call Hope just a friend. Bristle couldn't promise she felt the same way to Hope, but it still hurt."

"Yeah. I'm glad we're friends too..." Hope whispered wrapping her arms around Bristle and pulling her close.

Bristle felt her cheeks warm, she blinked trying to stay awake, but the warm of the blanket and Hope, then Hope's purring was soothing. Soon she shut her eyes drifting off to sleep...
