Chapter 56

Henry's POV

I looked at the ingredients in my book. I narrowed my eyes studying. "Come on. Work this time." I dropped in the last ingredient and the potion smoked up. I jumped.

The teacher made her way over and studied it. "Good job Henry. You were the first to complete the potion." She nodded approvingly.

A dry chuckle escaped me, "Thank you Mrs.Fara." Mrs.Fara turned away and walked back to her desk.

There was a knock on the door. Mrs.Fara raised and eyebrow and slipped to the door opening it. Principal Bump stood there with a kid I've never seen before.

"Mrs.Fara. This is Rachel Evergreen. She's a transfer student." He said patting her back. "Have you chosen the potion student your sending?"

Mrs.Fara tensed up, "Uhh. Yes! I choose Henry Brisk!" She said quickly nodding to me.

I froze. Excuse me! But I was like the worst student in her class. I could barely do a simple potion! I stood up and made my way over trying not to hang my head.

Principal bump nodded, "Rachel you can take Henry's spot. Henry you can go with the other students. They're at the entrance of the building." He said stepping aside.

I ran to my desk, grabbing my bag and potion book. Walking out the classroom, the strong potion smell faded the father from the class I got. I got to the entrance of the school and could see a few students I didn't know very well..

"Henry!" I flinched at the call of my name and turned to see Lucky and Bristle making their way over.

A smile appeared on my face, "you guys are here too!?"

"Yea. I was chosen for beast track." Lucky said. Just at that moment a Griffin came running over and knock Lucky over. The Griffin began nuzzling him as he laughed, "Clover! Stop it!"

Bristle shook her head, "I was chosen for plant track. Mr. Wenser said it was close between me and Willow."

"You think Hope will be chosen for any of her classes?" I asked, helping Lucky up.

"Don't think so." Bristle sighed, "she's smart and gets good grades. But she also messes up a lot in her classes."

"What about Renae?"

"Probably. She's one of the top healer's in her class. Plus she was hand picked by emperor's coven to be in her coven. She would be one of the best ones to represent Hexide." Lucky shrugged petting on Clover.

"Hey guys.." Renae said quietly. Gripping her bag.

"Renae!" Bristle said happily throwing her arms around her sister. "You excited?"

"No.... But do I have a choice?" She said shaking her head.

Me and Lucky exchanged glances. "Alright students! Time to get on the road to Spellcheck Academy!" Principle Bump called.

The gates to Spellcheck Academy opened revealing a big school. I paused not sure what to think of it.

Renae sighed and started forward. A short girl with pink eyes gave a wave. "Hello everyone! I'm Riña! I'll be your tour guide-" she paused her gaze landing on Renae, "well if it isn't RayRay."

A nervous chuckle escaped Renae, "hey Rina.."

Bristle looked at Renae and raised any eyebrow. "You know her?"

Renae opened her mouth to respond, "of course she does. After all this was her old school before she moved.. she had quite a reputation here." Rina smiled making her way over. "Quite a way with the ladies and guys too." She said with a big doopy smile.

Renae leaned away. Rina sat up, "Anyways! Let me show you guys around and I would love to get to know all of you." She glanced back at Renae, "and I'd like to know more than I already know about you." She said skipping off.

Lucky turned to face Renae, "I'm pretty sure we're all thinking the same thing." Placing his hands on his hips, he narrowed his eyes.

Renae rubbed the back of her neck, "I'll tell you later." Before we could ask anymore questions, she started into the school.

"Is it just me or is Renae hiding something?" Bristle said crossing her arms.

"More than likely. But what can we do about it." I asked.

Lucky shook his head, "no clue." He turned and petted on Clover, "let's head in..."

I nodded and followed after my boyfriend...
