Lucky's POV

I sat down in my seat. I watched as the teacher explained. Class here was dull compared to Hexside. A sigh escaped my throat. Why did it have to be me chosen to come here? But. At least I was with Henry.. A warm tingling tingled at my stomach.

"Lucky." I jumped at the teacher calling my name and sat tall. "Lucky. Your principal says you're one of the best beast keepers at your school. He says you have a good relationship with your Griffin Clover." She said tapping her foot, "show us."

I raised an eyebrow, "how do you show that?" I asked. "Relationship with Griffin's can't be shown the same way as witches. They can't talk. And they're not very good showing emotions with lots of people around. Unless it's their owner or care taker." I said petting of Clover.

The teacher nodded, "Principal animo was right. You sure do know a lot about Griffin's. Did you pick the Beastkeeper track?" She asked.

I shrugged, "originally I was in Oracle. But I wasn't very good at and I showed a great relationship with Clover when I found him. He was hurt so I helped him. Principal Bump saw and asked if I wanted to switch, since I seemed to be a natural Beast Keeper." I said not meeting the teacher's eye contact.

She let out a content hum. "Well it's good you got switched isn't it?"

I shrugged once again, "I guess." The memory of my dad's highschool picture came to mind... his beast track uniform stood out the most to me. I gripped my shirt. I would be different to my father... I hope...

I grabbed my lunch and settled down beside Renae. She had her head down and her hood up. I looked to Bristle who shrugged.

"Renae you okay?" I asked

She looked up, her bright yellow eyes flickered in something i couldn't quite understand, "no. I hate it here. I want to go back to Hexside!" She grumbled.

Henry sat down beside Bristle. "Well you're out of luck. We're here for another 5 days."

Renae groaned. "No...."

I looked behind us and could see a group of kids whispering to eachother. Most of them had on glasses. I pricked my ears trying to listen to their conversation.

"I can't believe she came back. Wait until Emila over hears." One whispered.

"I wonder if they'll get back together. They were really cute together." Another said.

"If not. I might have a shot." Said a third one.

"Doubt it. Renae is way out of your league." One laughed.

I turned to Renae, "you told us you'd tell us what happened here!" I growled softly.

Renae hesitated, "I can't. Not here."

"Well then can you tell us who Emila is!" I growled. Renae tensed up and looked to me. Fear.. Fear sparkled in her eyes.

"How do you know who she is!" She froze as a hand was slammed on the table.

"Renae.. you came back."

Renae looked behind her. A tall girl with brown hair fading to blonde stood there. She had beautifully bright orange eyes. She was wearing an Oracle track uniform, she was also tanned. To most she would be perfect.

Renae hummed out of discomfort, "Emila..." she muttered, "it's good to see you again."

The girl named Emila crossed her arms, "so this is how you come back?"

Renae dropped her gaze. "You come back. Only after you broke my heart 7 years ago!" Emila hissed. Her gaze softened, her eyes grew large a glassy like they were tearing up. She pushed her hands in her pocket.

Renae stood up. She looked at her feet. "Emila, I had to-"

Emila narrowed her eyes, "I don't need your excuses!" She snapped. She took a deep breath and held out a piece of paper, "there's a dance on Friday. The principal is allowing you and your class mates to go. You're encouraged to bring a plus 1." Emila said.

Renae grabbed the paper and scanned it over. She looked to us and shrugged. She turned back to Emila. "You better be ready. There's a lot of people here wanting to go to the dance with you in particular." She scoffed.

Renae narrowed her eyes, "man. You're a lot different now." She growled. "You're nothing but a jerk."

"Well you can blame yourself for that!" Emila yelled. "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO BROKE MY HEART!" Before anymore harsh words were exchanged, Emila turned away and walked off.

I stared at Renae. She sat back down placing the paper down grumbling.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Henry asked. Placing his hand of her's.

She pulled her hand away, "no. I don't."

Bristle crossed her arms, "you said you would explain your past here."

"AND I WILL! Just not now!" Renae growled. She pushed her hear out of her face. She looked at the bell as it rang. She stood up and walked off without another word.

I growled, "how do you and Rosie stand her!" I looked to Bristle who sighed.

"She's had a hard life-"

Anger bubbled inside of me, "YEA? WELL SO HAVE I AND IM NOT SITTING HERE HIDING MY PAST!" I snapped, Bristle flinch.

"Lucky!" Henry glared at me. He was now standing up, "I know your life is hard. But you still have your parents! And so do me and Bristle. Renae's parents are dead!" He growled.

"But she has Sean and Ho-" I started before Bristle stopped me.

"She may love my parents, and they are her parents. But they can never replace her birth parents. She grew up with her parents, not with mine." Bristle growled. The plant witch stood up a turned away, "I'll see you after class."

I turned to Henry for comfort, but the potion witch dropped his gaze, his fist clenched, "you acting so much like your-" he cut himself off. But that didn't do anything.. I knew what he was going to say.

"SAY IT! IM ACTING LIKE MY FATHER AREN'T I!" I yelled.

Henry's golden gaze met mine, "YES! YOU ARE! YOU'RE ACTING LIKE YOUR DAD!" He hissed. His tail was bristled. It then lied flat. He took a deep breath, "I need a break from you." He growled walking off.

Those words stabbed at my heart. "What?" I turned to him as he walked off, "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!" I was panicking. "Does that mean we're?"

Henry paused. He shrugged, "I don't know.." he started off again without much explanation.

Anger and sadness prickled under my skin, "FINE! I DONT CARE!" In reality I did... I blinked back my tears. I looked around and could see the few kids in the cafeteria was watching.

I pushed my hair out of my face and at first walking started to the bathroom. Then I broke out into a run. I reached the bathroom and entered then slammed the door locking it. Then the tears came.

"DAMNIT!" I leaned against the door and curled up in a ball.
