All night I was tossing and turning

All night I was tossing and turning. I struggled to go sleep and the fact that my asthma was playing up, didn't help. As I lay flat on the bed, it felt like someone was sitting on my lungs. Breathing was such a difficult task, it was like I was being squeezed all the air out of me. After fumbling around for my inhaler, two deep puffs later and I felt a calm wave in my chest.

The events that took place, causing me to get my first ever warning, were constantly playing around in my mind. After my breathing was regulated, I shut my eyes tightly hoping I would fall asleep.

What felt like five minutes, my alarm blared into my ears. Once again I groaned at the struggle of getting ready in the morning. With great might I pushed myself off the bed.

Today I wasn't able to make a quick and swift exit, my dad with his stern voice, cautioned for me to have breakfast before leaving.

"So is there anything you want to tell me." My dad said in his serious rigid tone.

My eyes moved their way up to look at him, and I slowly stopped chewing on my toast, shrugging my shoulders. I peered towards the left, to Ava, who also stopped her tracks in scoffing her breakfast. Then peering towards the right, my mums delicate eyes wait for me to say something.

"I got an email from the school. You got a warning? Do you want to tell me what it's about." My dad let out, finally filling in the awkward silence.

I sucked in my breath, internally groaning at the fact my father had found out.

"It's nothing. Just a misunderstanding." I mumbled, not wanting to go into detail.

"Are you sure? This isn't like you to get a warning, especially with it being an important year." My dad rapidly responded, trying to get an answer out of me.

"It's nothing. Anyway forget about me, how's work?" I asked with a big grin on my face, I winced at my pathetic attempt to change the subject.

Both my mum and Ava stared at me, shocked, that I had taken a sudden interest in my dads field of work.

"Come on Hannah, you're not fooling me. You don't care about my work." My dad chuckled, knowing what I was like.

"No seriously tell me. I want to know." I responded, trying to take an interest.

"Well if you're interested," my dad said, with slight shock masking his voice. "I've been looking to partner up with someone to help refurb the houses. Met this great guy, Brian, he has his own team of people who can make old houses practically brand new. If all goes well, we will form a new partnership. I buy the houses, he makes them brand spanking new, and then I sell them."

I raised my brows, and nodded at the words coming out, I slowly get up from my seat, ushering Ava to get out her seat.

"See that Angela, I knew she didn't care, anything to distract me." My dad chuckled, giving me a warm smile.
