Broad daylight filtered through the large windows, a magnificent look highlighted the sections of the library. Powerful light surged through the grand room.
A range of wooden chairs and tables situated in the middle, enabled various people to sit and do their work. The diverse pieces of furniture, allowed for every type of person to relax and do their work.
A mixture of sounds waved around into my ears. Murmurs and whisperers floated from person to person. Light conversations were made, so quiet unable to understand what was being said. The constant whizz of the printer and tapping of the keyboards showed the seriousness of the library.
Right at the back, was the faint sound of the coffee machine whirling. The cafe at the back of the library ensured all visitors were looked after with the rich and creamy drinks, accompanied by sweet and savoury snacks.
The smell of the library highlights peacefulness and power. The antique smell of the old books, combined with the crisp smell of the new books helped generate many ideas, just by the relaxing scent.
I managed to find a table, surrounded by comfy soft chairs, located to the far right of the library, out of sight. I peered towards my phone situated on the low table in front of me, checking the time. It was close to hitting one and Zac was nowhere to be seen.
The black biro pen danced around my fingers, I tapped my foot against the soft thick carpet, letting a long slow sigh out from my mouth.
My phone buzzed against the table and I leaped at the opportunity to check who it was. When I saw it was a message from Ruby, one percent of me was disappointed that it wasn't Zac, but that's when it clicked; we didn't have each other's number, nor did we follow each other on any type of social media. I made the hasty decision to wait until half one for him.
R: How's it going? X
Reading Ruby's message, I was going back and forth, deciding whether just to ring her and have good ol' gossip whilst waiting for Zac. Just as I was about ring Ruby, a voice captured my attention.
"What drink do you want?"
Turning my head upwards, I felt like I had frozen in my spot. Zac towered over me and my eyes and brain couldn't comprehend him standing there right in front of me. The words were evaporated from me, I couldn't form a sentence, just a mumble exited from me.
"What drink do you want?" Zac repeated. "I was thinking of getting a coffee before starting."
I subtly pinched the back of my hand, Zac here in the library, asking me if I wanted a drink. Surely this had to be a dream.
"Erm, I'll have a vanilla latte. Thanks," I responded, not giving up the one and only time Zac would offer me something.
Zac's brows were furrowed and he looked at me in a confusing manner. "Is that what you normally get?"
