Lindsey woke up to the sun shining in her room. She got up and started to get dressed as Elena walked in. "Ready for the day?" Lindsey looked at her as she fixed her shirt. "Same." Lindsey hugged her. "This year is so different without mom and dad."

"Yeah, but we still have one another." Lindsey tells her. "Besides you and Jeremy fighting." She heard Elena sigh. "I know your looking out for him, just let him go through this faze and it will be over in no time."

"I thought I was the oldest." Elena said making Lindsey laugh. "Let's get our drinks and head off to school."

Mystic Falls High was something Lindsey cared about. It held memories of her parents showing up for her cheerleading at the games. Thinking back brought tears to her eyes till a knock on her window made her wipe her tears. She looked to see Scott. A person she considers a brother. "Hey."

"Thinking about them."

"You already know the answer." She tells him as they walked to their lockers. "I'm guessing Matt is not a fan of Elena's right now."

"Yep."

Scott walked over to Matt as Lindsey opened her locker. Matt ignored Elena and looked at her little sister and saw she was getting books out. "Dude, why can't you just ask her out."

"She's Elena's sister."

"So. Jeremy is after your sister so why can't you have Lindsey." Scott said making Tyler nod in agreement.

"She was there more than what Elena was." He said.

Lindsey smiled at some of her classmates before walking off to class. Scott looked at his friend's face and sighed knowing it will take forever to get him to see Lindsey in a different light.

Later that night, Lindsey walked through the door not knowing Elena and Stefan were right behind her. She walked over to the pool table as she saw Matt's face. "Did I do something."

"No, but she doesn't need to think over things."

Lindsey turned and saw Elena and Stefan. She sighed as she understood he was upset. Lindsey placed her head on his shoulder. Matt sighed as he hugged the middle Gilbert. "Let's play a game of pool."

"Sure." Lindsey replies as she was excited for a game of pool.

Scott looked between his two friends and knew that Matt will eventually see what him and everyone else sees.

The next day, Lindsey walked to class with a smile as today was a the party at the falls. Taking her seat in math. She got a text from Matt and Scott. Matt's was asking if she was going and Scott's was asking if he had a chance with Elena. Lindsey only replied to  Matt as she knew Matt still had feelings for Elena and Scott has them too, but Stefan is going to be it.

Later that night, Lindsey smiled as she arrived at the party. She saw Matt and Elena talking, but just by the way his facial expression looked. Elena doesn't want him. "Elena, you need to think of how fast your moving. Matt still has feelings as you don't."

"I thought he would move on after four months."

"You two dated for a long time too." Lindsey tells her. "So there will be feelings still there."

Elena nodded as she watched her sister walk away. Matt smiled at what she said for him. Scott smiled as he watched Lindsey get her a drink than walk off, away from the drama.

Lindsey heard someone screaming and ran to see Vicki pushing Tyler off her. "Hey!" She said making Tyler turn around. "Go home, Tyler. Your drunk in not in the right state of mind."

"Fine." Tyler said as he shoved Lindsey away making Vicki help the Gilbert girl.

"Thanks, Lindsey."

"Anytime." She replied as they heard a twig snap. "What was that?"

"I don't know, but we need to go now." Vicki tells her.

Lindsey started walking. She didn't know that Vicki didn't follow till Lindsey felt something sharp on her neck making her scream.

Jermey was walking away from Elena when he tripped over something. "Oh my god, Jeremy. Are you okay?"

"Yeah just tripped over something." He said as he saw Vicki. "Vicki."

Elena gasped with tears as she saw someone she loved. "Lindsey!"

Just that name made Jeremy look to see his sister and go to her. "Lindsey?"

"Jeremy, you take Vicki and I'll get Lindsey."

Jeremy did as told as Elena helped her sister who was out of it. When she reached the crowd, everyone gasped when they saw Lindsey in the same condition as Vicki, but more paler. "Lindsey?" Matt and Scott said as Tyler felt guilty for what happened earlier. "Get help."

Matt walked back in after checking on Lindsey since Elena left to get her clothes. He wondered what attacked his sister and best friend.
