"So," I asked Theodore, trying to keep up with him as we walked through the forest "what was the catch?"
Theodore turned around to look at me, "Oh, just that they cannot leave the tale." he said "I thought it was quite generous."
Luna had been trying to leave the tale, but why? She wouldn't have been able to cure the curse back home, she would have died. Theodore stopped causing me to bump into him, "Oh my goodness" he whispered shocked.
I stared at the clearing horrified, it looked like a scene out of a horror story, there were patches of blood splattered on the ground and the trees around were splintered and broken, many covered in large scratches.
"Where are they?" Theodore said, panic rising in his voice "What happened?"
I walked to the other edge of the cliff, silence echoed around us. I scanned the surrounding woodland, there was nothing alive in this section of the forest, something had killed everything, and from the blood on the floor it seemed like that included Luna.
"What could have taken all of them?" Theodore muttered, placing his hand on a broken tree
I looked up, "I thought it was only Luna?"
"Luna was with others." Theodore said quietly "There was a blonde girl with her as well, looked a bit like Guinevere's girl, and a boy, I didn't recognise him."
My heart sunk. Dawn must have found Luna after all, and now both of them were gone. I held back a sob. I hadn't wanted to speak to Dawn again after she ran away. Now all I wanted to do was talk to her, I didn't care that she had ran away, I didn't care that she had replaced me with Biron. All along I had just wanted my best friend back and now I would never see her again.
I didn't even get to say goodbye.
