Chapter 8: Taming The Bad Girl

I have never met a girl who can talk back to me and even dare to humiliate me, well, maybe this year I have. There was something about her that lured me to her. She was beautiful, I can tell you that. But there was something more about her than meets the eye. Like she's hiding something. She was wicked. Mischievous. Naughty and a real pain in the neck. 

I hate her because she's the only one who's ever done that to me. 

I hate her guts.

I hate the way that she's the only one who can boss me around.

I hate it.

I have been observing her for these past few weeks and she's really something alright. During classes, she participates well and she even managed to top the class and so I was knocked out of my throne. But in socializing with others? That's another story. She barely talks to the other girls, the only people that I have seen her be with are the Astell Trinity and Kara Alvarez. And that's basically it. She spend most of her time in the library or in the classroom. 

Look, this is not the ideal mannerism of a girl, especially someone like her. Because of what she did to me during our practice, her popularity has increased and she gained admirers as well, other students from other sections were idolizing her and found her as their inspiration. She's beauty, brains and brawn according to some.

And another thing is, is her name. Asteria Harris? I haven't heard of that surname before. The three brothers have made it clear to all of us that no one must dare ask her questions and bother her and that makes me more suspicious. And why are they allowed to be with her and not the rest of us? Do they have connections or something? I have no idea.

But what really bothers me is that I have never seen her use her power before. Does she keep it hidden? Is there a secret behind it? Is it destructive or humiliating? I don't know. But one thing's for sure. She's classified. 

"It looks like your having deep thoughts. Care to share them with me?" it was Kole. 

Kole Mendez has been my best friend ever since we were kids. We'd do everything together and we'll have fun together. He's the one who stood by me during my darkest nights, and he's the one who was there for me even if I went wild and untamed when she left me. He's the brother that I've never had. As years go by, our personality has changed. I was cold, ignorant and didn't care much about the world, as long as I can do whatever I want, I'm Ok with it. While he was a happy-go-lucky guy who cared about everything, were still friends. 

"What do you think about Asteria?" I asked as I saw her walking in the hallway.

"What? Don't tell me Mr. Gangster is falling for Ms. Perfect? I knew it!" he laughed. What kind of sick and twisted idiot will think of me and that girl as a couple?! That thought disgusts me. 

"No. I just find her.. strange. She's a mystery to me" I replied shortly, "Ah. Akala ko naman. Hindi naman ako gaano ka-close sa kanya kasi lagi niyang kasama yung Astell brothers tsaka si Kara pero muka naman siyang mabait at masayang kasama. Diba, may project kami? Matalino rin siya. Maganda rin, nagyon nga lang ako nakakita ng beauty na ganyan eh. Basta, beauty, brains and brawn siya.." looks like he's the one who's falling for her.

"Not that. I mean, what's her powers? Is there anything interesting about her?" I rephrased, "Looks like your interested in her. This is the first time you've talked about a girl after she left. Its a good improvement" are you hearing yourself?! That brat is nowhere near my girl!

"Just keep an eye on her and tell me compulsive information about her. She's not your average girl" I said and he kept on talking but I just ignored it.

My suspicions are growing wilder than ever before and I'm getting too curious. Luckily, when class ended, she was alone. This is my chance.

Without saying anything, I grabbed her by her hand and pulled her to an empty classroom. I locked the door and slammed her on the wall. 

"W-What are you doing?" I knew it. She might be a gangster but she's still a girl. I'm taking advantage of her feminine side right about now.

"Listen here Asteria.. I know your hiding something and I want to know what it is. So if you don't want me to do unpleasant things, then answer me!" I threatened and let out a devilish smirk. She's getting nervous. That's a good sign.

"I don't know what your talking about" playing innocent, I see. "Don't lie to me! I know something's up. Now I'm giving you another chance to answer me and I'll let you go peacefully"

"Fine. You caught me. I'm not Asteria Harris. That's just a pseudonym. And I'm no ordinary girl. Everything that you see about me is just an act because trust me when I say this, Walls have ears. Doors have eyes. Trees have voices. Beasts tell lies. Beware the rain, beware the snow. Beware the woman you think you know." she let out a death threat.

I knew she's hiding something! But I didn't think that she'd actually be like this. Now, she really reminds me of her. Beautiful but twisted.

"Then who are you?" I ask her.

"I'm sorry Ryker. You can't know who I am" she replied and pushed me, but I quickly grabbed her hand and she looked at me curiously.

I had an idea and I don't know what came over me but I kissed her right there.

She was shocked and slapped me in the face. "I hate you" she murmured and ran out. 

But from what I did, I'm sure that she'll change after that. And.. she's mine already.
