Aria continued to walk back to the Hufflepuff common room and hoped, with all that she could, that she wouldn't go insane at the dance with Malfoy. He may have been immensely irritating but Aria was well-aware of the fact that she was going to have to at least try to tolerate him. She had a feeling that it was going to be one long old October but she knew that she had to get through it. She and her friends were getting closer to taking down the big bad bald bastard, as he had been conveniently named inside of Aria's mind, and so now was not the time to give up on their mission. If there was one thing that Aria had always considered to be a strength of hers, then it was her determination to act as a team player in her group of friends. Even when things got uncomfortable, she knew that she would do all that she could within her power to help them out.

A smile made its way onto Aria's face but it only lasted a moment before her jaw twitched with the frustrating realisation that she still had Malfoy's diary within her possession. She had to wonder, if only for a moment, whether he had realised that he no longer had his diary. Aria decided that ultimately it couldn't have been that important to him if he hadn't asked her for it. She swallowed nervously. If Draco realised that she had his diary, she could be in some serious trouble. The last thing Aria wanted to do was to give Malfoy a reason to tolerate her even less.

Aria decided that she was going to need to privately return Malfoy's diary to him, just not directly. If he found out that she had taken it, even if it had been an accident, then she was certain that he would hex her into oblivion. Her bright eyes gazed out of the window as she tried to think of a plan to return the diary. However, before she did so, it wouldn't hurt to take another peak at what he had written inside, right? Aria's fingers played at the edge of the cover, tempting her to read on but she quickly told herself not to do such a thing. She wasn't actually sure that she even wanted to read any more of what Malfoy had written. From the snippets that her honey eyes had glanced over, she had come to the realisation that he really seemed to dislike anyone that wasn't like him- shocker. The more shocking thing, though, was the fact that he had mentioned her in his diary, even if it had only been by her house- 'that annoying Hufflepuff'.

Without thinking too much about what she was doing, Aria stood up from the seat in the Hufflepuff common room and began to walk towards the Slytherin common room. Helga, she thought to herself, this whole thing is just yelling out danger. Nevertheless, Aria managed to get to the Slytherin common room entrance.

"What's the password?" Aria whispered into her own hands. She really ought to have thought this thing through a little more carefully.

"It's Salazar this week," spoke a voice from behind her, and to Aria's surprise she turned to find that Malfoy was standing there. "I know, it's terrible. I've told them to change it about a dozen times but nobody seems to care, given that hardly any students are here."

"Ah, right," Aria said.

Malfoy regarded her with bored grey eyes, as he raised a toned arm up to run his hand through his smooth blonde hair. He then took a step closer to Aria and she crept back a little in her nervousness, but also due to the matter of Malfoy towering over her.

"What on earth are you doing here anyway?" he asked.

"I uh...got lost," Aria lied. For Godric's sake.

"You got lost in your seventh year? Am I supposed to believe that, which I won't, or are you actually going to tell me what you're doing here, Hufflepuff?" he asked, with irritation evident in his voice.

A cool October breeze drifted through the window towards the two of them and Aria felt the hairs rise on her arms, as though she didn't have reason to be cold enough in Malfoy's presence.

While they stood there, a dark raven cawed away outside, unsettling Aria further.

Ultimately, she decided that she was going to say something. She just hoped that she wouldn't get killed in the process.

"I found a book that belongs to one of the students here," Aria admitted.

Malfoy's eyebrow arched at that.

"I don't believe that. You're up to something," Malfoy said.

Aria folded her arms in front of her chest and retorted, "Why do you think that I'm up to something, Malfoy?" She asked it as though it was the most ridiculous question ever.

"You're a friend of Potter, are you not? You and your friends are always up to something," Malfoy remarked easily, as a knowing expression made its way onto his face. He then shifted a little uncomfortably. "You may as well turn around now, Hufflepuff, because you aren't going anywhere near our dormitories as long as I'm here," he said.

"Right, so I should come back when you're not here. Got it," Aria said and turned on her heel.

"You shouldn't come back here, at all," Malfoy said. "I should have trusted a Hufflepuff like you to stick her nose in places where it doesn't belong."

Aria paused and turned back to him, then.

"What exactly is that supposed to mean? You're so judgmental of anyone that isn't a pureblood Slytherin, aren't you?" Aria said.

Malfoy's eyes grew a little larger at that.

"See, now you're getting it," he said, with a smile that faded within a couple of seconds after it had appeared.

Aria waited for him to continue, even though she had a feeling that she wasn't going to like what he had to say next.

"Here's the thing, I don't like you. I despise you and your friends, actually. So, get the hell out of my sight," Malfoy said, with a hardened expression.

Well, there was no way that he was going to get that diary back any time soon.

Aria felt tempted to sigh. This whole thing just meant that she was going to have to hang onto his stupid diary for longer than she wanted to. She would return it eventually, though, she thought decisively. She had to.
