Aria was eating at the Gryffindor table the next morning when she soon felt two strong arms wind around her waist. She tilted her head slightly and Draco placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.
"Come with me," he whispered into her ear.
Aria wasn't about to argue with that imperative and so she stood up from the table and followed Draco out of the Great Hall.
They found a quieter area of the hall and Aria turned to ask Draco a question but sooner than she could get a single syllable out, she found her back pressed into the wall behind her as Draco's lips moved to meet hers. "I told you I missed you," he said quietly, as his lips pulled away from hers for a few seconds. "This is just a demonstration of how much I meant that," he said.
Aria felt warmth rise in her chest, as she moved her fingers through Draco's soft hair and began to kiss him back.
The two of them were considerably breathless after a while of kissing and Draco picked Aria up off the ground and pulled her into him as he ran his hand gently over her soft copper-brown waves.
"You're everything to me, Honey," he said with intensity in his voice. It was the sort of intensity that made Aria never want to let go of him. "You're mine," he whispered into her ear.
Aria felt her a blush bloom upon her cheeks as she managed to reply to that. "Yes," she said, "As long as you're mine," she added, as Draco placed her back down upon the ground so she could meet his gaze again.
Draco's eyebrows creased together, as he gently traced his fingers over one of Aria's cheeks towards her jaw.
"I'm yours, Aria. Always," he said with sincerity in his voice.
"Good," Aria replied, "I guess sometimes I just worry that-"
"You're all I need, Honey. You are all I have ever really needed," he said, "And I want you more than anything else but that's nothing in comparison to how much I need you to be in my life," he added, as he pulled her into a tight hug. It was a hug that Aria didn't wish to leave any time soon.
Aria was tempted to kiss Draco again, but sooner than she could do this, footsteps approached the two of them and they swiftly pulled away as Hermione came into view.
"Oh," Draco said, with a breath of relief. "Hello, Granger," he said.
Hermione's eyes flickered between Aria and Draco and she smiled knowingly.
"Hello, Malfoy and Aria. I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" she asked.
Aria narrowed her eyes at her friend but didn't say a word. She already knew that she knew she had interrupted something.
"Not at all," Draco lied, even though the smile upon his face seemed a little false. He had managed to keep most of the sarcasm out of his voice. Affection returned to his gaze as soon as his eyes looked back towards Aria. "I was just discussing charms with Aria," he said, which caused Aria to release a chuckle. He certainly had a funny way of 'discussing charms'.
Hermione suppressed her urge to laugh and just gave a nod at that.
"Right. Well, what can I say? Charms is fairly important," she said. "I have to admire a friend who helps a friend study."
Honestly, 'Mione, go away, Aria thought quietly to herself, but she didn't say a word. She was finding this both terrible and amusing at the same time.
"Well, of course. I have to say, as nice as it is to have you around, Granger, what exactly did you need?" Draco asked.
Hermione smiled before she replied. "I was just going to ask Aria if she wanted to come and sort out the Great Hall with me, but if she's busy then I can come back later..." Hermione began to say.
"I'm not that busy," Aria said.
Hermione gave an understanding nod at that and began to walk back towards the Great Hall.
Draco's lips soon returned to Aria's mouth.
"I'll need more of you later, Aria," he said.
Aria felt considerably breathless, as he drew back to meet her gaze again.
"Don't leave your friend waiting," he said with a wink, before he made his way down the hall away from her.
As she adjusted her yellow and black striped tie, Aria managed to collect her thoughts enough to head after Hermione.
She soon found her back at the Great Hall, sorting out the tables for lunchtime.
"I know that look," Hermione said in a sing-song tone, as she met her friend's gaze.
Aria rolled her eyes at that.
"What exactly are you implying by that, Hermione?" she asked.
"You're completely smitten with Draco Malfoy. It doesn't take a genius to realise that," she said, "Besides, whatever it was that you were doing in the hallway, it certainly didn't look like you were just 'discussing charms' as you put it," she added.
"Alright, alright. Fine. We kissed," Aria admitted.
Hermione grinned from ear to ear at that confession.
"I knew it!" she said excitedly. "Of course, I did. I'm very observant and all of the tell-tale signs were there. Diluted pupils whenever Draco entered the room; the fact that you could barely look at him for more than a minute...you like him," she said.
That was an understatement.
"I suppose I can sympathise with that, though, even if it is Draco. After all, he did save you from the Malfoy Manor," Hermione said.
Draco certainly had saved Aria, but that was only one of the reasons why she liked him so much.
"Anyway, I admire the fact that you were so persistent with him, Aria," Hermione said, "I know not just anyone could get through to Draco Malfoy."
"Well, he's worth it," Aria said with decisiveness.
"Of course, he likes you back. Who wouldn't? You're amazing to have around, Aria. You always have been," Hermione said.
Aria smiled at that, as she pulled Hermione into a quick hug.
"Now, should we keep sorting out this place?" she asked, as she took a step back from the hug.
"Definitely," Hermione said, with a kind glint in her gaze.
