Aria Honey wasn't quite sure what was going to happen to Harry, but she really hoped that he would survive.
Of course, her mind was aware of the risks posed by Harry being a Horcrux. The only way to take out a Horcrux was to destroy it entirely. That meant that there was a high chance that Harry wouldn't be around for much longer, and that notion in itself filled Aria's stomach with nausea.
Although it was now spring, the atmosphere still felt cold, dark and unwelcoming. Aria wished for days filled with sunshine and warmth, but no sunshine or warmth could be found on Hogwarts' grounds at present.
Ultimately, the school had felt that way for quite some time, now. Ever since Professor Dumbledore had passed on, Aria felt as though a light had been permanently switched off. Dumbledore's spirit was gone and it felt as though a candle had been put out and could never be lighted again. She couldn't help but wonder how things would feel if anything was to happen to Harry. The mere thought of it instilled fear in her chest, though.
More ominous still, a large black raven passed by the window and caused Aria's heart to drop to her stomach.
It was just a myth. A "bad omen". Yeah right. Maybe she did need to listen to Draco more often. Perhaps he had been right when he had said she was being entirely too superstitious. Her eyes remained focused on the bird, however, as it swooped down through the darkened sky and then disappeared entirely.
Aria's attention was turned away from the bird, when she heard a little scuttling across the wooden floorboards of the Hufflepuff common room.
A mouse.
Aria sighed. That was the fourth one that she had seen this week!
She scooped it up into her hands and placed it in the cage with the other mice. She just hoped that the mice would become friends and wouldn't try to engage in some form of Mortal Kombat.
As she tried to settle her nerves to the best of her ability, Aria walked out into the hall only to walk directly into a chest. At first she worried it was Draco, but then a different voice spoke.
"Hey. Are you okay?" sounded the voice of the one and only Harry Potter.
Aria considered the question for a moment because she really wasn't sure how she should respond. However, when she gazed up to meet Harry's green eyes, she found herself feeling a little better. Aria had always managed to find more than just a friend in Harry, she found solace there, too. Although she knew how terrifying Harry's life had been on more than one occasion, she also acknowledged the fact that he always managed to keep calm.
"I'm okay. Are you?" Aria asked.
Harry's eyes searched Aria's own ones for a second, as though he wasn't entirely convinced that she was telling him the whole story, but he gave a small nod of his head.
"I'm always alright, Aria. You know that. Things are bloody scary right now, we can all admit that but...we're going to be alright," he said, with a reassuring smile that made Aria just want to step forward and wrap her arms around Harry in a tight hug once again.
Aria wasn't sure how Harry always seemed to be so relaxed, but it was somewhat refreshing. Even when it felt as though the entire world was flipping inside out, he managed to keep calm. It was as if he alone knew how to navigate the storm.
"How are you so...calm about all of this?" Aria asked.
"Believe me, I'm not. I just...I don't want to bother people. I've already done that too many times to count," Harry said.
Aria's eyes flickered with sympathy after she heard that.
"Harry, that's not true. You don't bother people. You know how much we all accept you, along with every single one of the trials we have to face. We do it not because we have to, Harry, but because we want to. And I will always be here to support you," Aria said, with a tone of promise.
Harry couldn't help but smile at that. He felt immensely blessed to have a friend like Aria Honey. She brought an amicability along with her that Harry knew he would be lost without.
"Look, I value your happiness more than anything else. I value my friends' lives and safety over anything else and that is why you must know that I will do absolutely everything within my power to look out for you, Harry. No matter what happens with these final Horcruxes, I will fight for you," she vowed.
"I don't want to lose you," Harry admitted.
The raw emotion in his words made Aria's heart hurt, but she knew that she could only say one thing to that.
"You're not going to," she said.
Of course, she wasn't sure whether this was true. Nevertheless, if Aria Honey was one thing, then she was a fighter. She wasn't going to go down without screaming and punching herself out of a difficult situation.
Something was telling her that Harry was in need of a hug, so Aria stepped forward to wrap her arms around him and within seconds, Harry was hugging her back.
"We're going to get through this, Harry. No matter your decisions, know that I will forever support you. We can get our peace back again, Harry and we will. We won't give up. Just think about how much we've already lived through and we only came through it stronger. I have every faith in us that we can do it again. We will do it again," Aria said, with all the courage in the world in her soft voice. Her arms provided a warm space for Harry to melt into and he smiled as his hands moved slightly up her spine.
"Thank you, Aria," he said.
"Always," Aria replied, as a small smile crept onto her lips.
